That saying in Batman Begins when Rachel says to Bruce "It's not who you are underneath, but what you do that defines you".

Generally the same aspect for anyone, meaning, you can't be Bill Gates son/daughter and already achieved life. Live off the millions and billions your parents have earned because when it's time you have kids they won't learn anything from someone who has bought their way through life. That same thing goes for in Harry Potter when Malfoy buys his way to be a seeker in Quidditch, and to fail miserably having no training or any sorts just to compete with Harry. Harry also said to him before the game that he nor his father bought his way into being a Seeker, he earned it.

As a young adult soon to ship out to Boot Camp and serve this country and an active duty Marine and defend everything at all costs I noticed it takes a lot more than just going into a recruiter's office and saying I want to shoot people and have medals pinned upon my chest, no. If that's what you think it's like in the Armed Forces than you have a lot to learn. First off, what really makes you want to be a soldier? I did more than ask myself that. I spent half of my time in junior high through high school thinking about it. I had so many dreams but I chose to put my life on the line.

Men who have high goals and in the latter achieve them do it to truly find out what defies them in life. Limits is the exact answer. I don't want to be a soldier to tell girls I killed people and you should be with me because I can protect you better than the one prior and the guy that's next, but... To each their own. Everyone views of what being a "Man" is differently, how definitive they are.

There is no definite answer. Concepts of what a man should be varies between all individuals just like the notions of what is good and what is evil. There is no unanimous thought.

A man is a man as long as he has the physiology of one.

But how should a man act? Well the answer is too long to write, but it pretty much deals with being noble, strong, loyal, merciful, forgiving, supportive, and overall good.

to be tough and strong mentally, physically is also nice buts its optional, since in the modern society, brain is the true key to success! not the strength or the muscles, to be able to hunt your own food.
man was also a leader of the world through out of the history and even up till now in most countries.

I was gonna say I respect your values though I disagree with many and much not included, I didn't read your post indepth but that was some shit you copied from an article so there is nothing I can say to you because you didn't bring your own thoughts into this.

I believe we all have our strengths and weaknesses. If I'm prideful in being a man and you feel offended while warping it into that interpretation then you have insecurities you need to work with. Also a penis and a sack doesn't make a man, boys have them too, imo it goes alot deeper into the character traits and mindsets of a man.
Having pride in being a man makes no sense altogether. It's just a play of words that got adopted by the masses. When you grow up, you're a man. Simple as that.

Idk what that insecurity comment is supposed to mean, really. I'm a male and def more "manly" than the general male populace on here when it comes to masculinity. That Does not make me feel any more admirable

A scrawny kid could be more succesfull than me in certain things and take more responsibility than I do. so does that mean he's more manly than me in that sense? Being responsible is being a man? So a responsible woman is a man? It's just a wordplay born out of a world governed by male dominance. Gentleness of the female is seen as weak and brute strength and guts seen as male strength but I'm convinced the world would be a more peacefull place if female attributes were seen as strength.

Someone who can take care of themselves and not depend on someone else. That's all there is to it.

Also, being immature doesn't necessarily mean that you are not a man. Maybe they just want to have fun.

I didn't know that being a stuck up tightwad all the time meant that you were automatically a man.

No, to me having pride means having a certain level of self respect, courage and dignity. The rest of your posts are your own assumptions which I have nothing to do with and don't agree with, for example who says a female attributes aren't already being seen as strengths depending on what they are and how they fit in certain situations?

You said it yourself, buddy. You're the one that wrapped your own interpretation of it and used a word "man" to express it. It's social constructice reality. Mtv catfish had such a good social dissemination that they actually changed the meaning of the word "catfish" in the dictionary. Now it's not thought of as a fish at firsthand but as a online no-lifer.

And female attributes ARE seen as weak. That's fact, no discussion possible. Plenty of examples available.

What is strong and what is weak is all relative. I'm not saying females can't be prideful, qualities like that aren't based on one gender or another but is mostly found in men. There are traits that are mostly found in women, there is no fact here.

A man's actions define who he is, he can claim to have many principles beliefs and traits, but until they are tested or put into action, they are just words and not a reality.
