Sakura's not useless
-Sakura was the one who figured out White Zetsu perfectly transformed into people,and she figured out that they were made from Hashiramas cells and transformed into people from absorbing chakra.She then told HQ,who formed a strategy to counter them,which saved many lives.

-Sakura healed everyone in the SA,thus saving there lives and allowing them to fight longer.

-Sakura had enough chakra for Obito to use Kamui multiple times to open portals to faraway dimensions and help Sasuke which led to the world being saved.

-When Kaguya was about to dodge Naruto,and Sasuke,Sakura punched her,thus allowing Naruto and Sasuke to touch her,and seal her away which led to the World being saved.

If it wasn't for Sakura's help - everyone would be dead.

Maybe she likes trends and the way glasses look on her(i know people like that) and doesnt necessarily need it.
Maybe it displays how she is related to Sakura who was doing very well on the academic side, passed her exams with 100% etc. And she is also a geek like Sakura.

Just imagine her vision being dulled to the point of needing glasses. Nobody said the sharingan guaranteed you 20/20 vision. I promise you it's not in the manga or anime so.
