Greetings From Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man!

spinoff.comicbookresources.com said:
Sony Pictures has already announced plans to expand its Spider-Man franchise with spinoffs focused on Venom and the Sinister Six, and a female-led movie seems like a serious possibility. However, the studio may only be getting started.

File this rumor under “So Absurd It’ll Probably Turn Out to Be True,” but Latino Review contends Sony is interested a movie about a young Aunt May (go ahead and get the cracks about Marvel’s widely panned Trouble out of your system). According to the website, “The target mood is some sort of espionage story in the vein of AMC’s Mad Men, which sounds like a way of saying ‘classier Agent Carter’ without name-dropping Marvel’s upcoming series.”

The difference, of course, is that Peggy Carter was one of the breakout characters of Captain America: The First Avenger, and the continuation of her adventures first in a Marvel One-Shot and, soon, in an ABC miniseries grew out of the story and audience interest. As good as Sally Field was in the two Amazing Spider-Man movies (she is a two-time Oscar winner, after all), it’s difficult to imagine there were many viewers thinking, “Wow, if only we knew more about what Aunt May was doing four decades ago!”

Still, studio executives have made stranger decisions, so maybe this rumor is true, and Sony will soon announce another Spider-Man movie without Spider-Man (as if one of the world’s most recognizable characters has somehow become toxic). Or maybe in a game of Hollywood-gossip telephone, murmurs of a Spider-Girl/May “Mayday” Parker spinoff transmogrified into the adventures of Young Aunt May.

Whatever the case, we can pretty much guarantee it won’t be based on Trouble.

Found this article a few minutes ago just wanted to share it to all the fans out there and voice my opinion on it. So yea I'm not mad at the guy who started this rumor, but I am mad at Sony for even letting this happen. It's obvious that Spider-Man is one of the most popular superhero's. It's obvious that everyone wants to see more of him. But the really sad thing that has become obvious is the fact that Sony is trying to milk this cow without feeding it. No announcements whatsoever. No plans whatsoever. All we have gotten from them is rumors and gossip about a young Aunt May movie

...... A Young..... Aunt May...... Movie..... *sigh*

Well that's enough ranting what do you guys think about the rights to Spider-Man? Think Sony should just hand them over to Marvel for a few hundred Million?

Sony should just let Spidey be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

We need Iron Man to give Spider Man the Iron Spider !!!
Its way too hard to connect universes like that. Spiderman operates in New York and he is nowhere to be seen in Avengers where the final battle takes place.

They could have the events of The Amazing Spider-Man take place after that or while Spider-Man was gone after....Spoiler from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 below!

Gwen Stacy's death.

They could then have The Avengers take place then and just have Coulson check in on Peter Parker telling him he knows his secret. :)

I disagree. Marvel could definately find some way to tie him in to the story. It would require effort, but would not be that difficult.

I think sony could make immense profit by leasing the spiderman character to marvel.(lease meaning they let marvel use spider man, but retain the rights to him, while marvel pays a massive sum for those rights.)

Either way it wont happen.
