Too bad I don't care about you people to stop. You can continue to deny it though. Lol

Pour the salt on these Christians. I thought you people were supposed to have faith in your almighty Lord and Savior Jesus Christ? Why get mad over some little comments? Maybe you should pray to your messiah to give you the strength to let it go. Lol
Well thanks for the compliment! We Christians are called to be the salt of the earth, and we need to stay salty or we will lose our flavor and become garbage.

"Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men."

Im tired and done for the night. Have a great night man!!!!

I'd like to say I am a Christian(I'm still a work in progress) and I often feel like a lot of us get a bad rep because of people who go on saying people are hell bound and other stuff like that. You know like the clichéd judgmental old man who is always pointing out flaws all the time without really trying to understand and help someone. I feel like I can't have a discussion about religion because people often get hostile b4 any real discussion can take place.

My friend. History gives Christians a bad rep.

I went to a christian church for the first time in about 7 years. It was terrible. Dumbass preacher preaching about things he knows jackshit about, mentioning the plane crash in malaysia, saying the christian passengers are saved.. Mentions jesus and amen a thousand times, does notknow jackshit about its origins. If you want to understand the bible you have to study astrotheology and paganism. Don't listen to christians. They don't know anything, they just believe.

To be fair, there are alot of ignorant Christians (even pastors) out there. Not everyone, including myself, has a doctorate in hermeneutic or theology. Sadly, some pastors don't know what they're talking about and it gives Christianity an "ignorant" tone. I implore you to try some other churches, if you want to. Maybe you'll find a somewhat decent church/pastor.

Well yes. Any form of media will promulgate the bad eggs of religions (i.e. the ones who say or do terrible things and use their religion to justify their actions) and then that leads the public to make untrue generalizations.

I don't judge people based on their religion though, I judge them for who they are individually. After all, it's up to the individual to determine what are the valuable concepts in their religion and those choices reflect that person as a human being.

Kudos to you for your neutral reply despite having your beliefs bashed.

No, no religious leader could teach me any legitimate thing if they uphold their view of what is god and such.
No matter how rich their vocabulary, they're all ignorant. Note; I was raised a christian. Went to a lot of churches in Holland until my 13th. My parents let me decide myself which surprised me because my dad would tear off my drawings off the wall because, apparently, medabots are demonic.

There are some ignorant people out there, like the Westboro Baptist church for instance, those guys are grade-A whackamos and deserve to burn for the kinds of disgusting antics they pull. However, generally, no, they are decent people, it's just the fact that some people may not like their beliefs that they will get bashed or get a bad rep.

To be fair, if you don't believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, who lived on Earth as fully God and fully man, died for your sins, resurrected, and ascended to heaven, then you're probably going to hell. Rough, I know, but it's how it works. However, I don't think the "fire and brimstone" approach isn't really the best way to convert people to Christianity, especially nowadays.
I'm a Christian, and if you ever have any questions or want to talk about Christianity or anything, hit me up. I like discussing theology and things of that matter. :)
So I guess everyone like Abraham went to Hell? I never liked that worldview. It basically turns us into an exclusive cult ruled by a culture of fear.

Let me guess, one of those anachronistic Jesus is the "Sun of God" theories? even though Son and Sun are only similar in modern English?

Sounds like the Christians you met were all paranoid nut cases. Of course I don't blame you for your hostility, I experienced a lot of the same behavior and I sympathize for anyone who experienced an environment like that. Worst of all, they think they're doing the "right" thing and a lot of the time they've totally given their minds away to an abusive set of beliefs.

OT: Christians do get a bad rep, but in some cases its justified, some cases its not. I myself can't say I really identify with most other Christians. I consider them my family but I can't say I like most of them.

I experienced the same for a little bit. My parents thought pokemon was evil cuz animals had powers but they eventually gave way to that kind of believing and became more loving. Most of the Christians I hear being described in this thread do not even potray what they believe in. For argument purposes Christians follow Jesus or are supposed to strive to be like him. Jesus spent time with sinners and never did judge or preach the way the Christians people are describing in this thread do. It kinda hurts to get bashed when people say they "are all ignorant", or "all crazy" without giving the slightest possibility of a good Christian because of your experiences. I myself know a lot of preachers don't know how to teach chrisitianity, and a lot of people do not know how to go the right way about introducing your beliefs to someone else. A lot of them do think they can just sin and ask god for forgiveness, a lot of them think they are right but none of us are perfect. If I introduce my religion I don't say "you know you're going to hell if you don't" nor do I think metabots is demonic. LMFAO. I do find it funny that the same people who judge Christians do not want to be judged by Christians. I have atheist friends, Muslim friends, and sometimes we talk about religion but if one doesn't want to believe in the other we don't piss our pants out of anger and hit people with our religious books. Due to past experiences people will already assume that everyone who is a Christian "thinks they're perfect, is looking down on me, they act like they so special, so judgemental, so hypocritical, we know what they like on the inside." I don't understand how we can judge a group unjustly when we don't like being judged unjustly ourselves, but is the other person who is crazy for doing the same as you.

EDIT: I do understand the problems with people who only claim to be chritians though. There are a lot of those. Admitedly there are atheist and what not who'd I'd rather hang with than my own fellow Christians.

There's always that group of people who takes something to extreme and it reflects on the group as a whole. And I agree with you, people on the internet hear you're religious and suddenly they want to get hostile and be jerks about it.

I agree with most of this post, however on the experience level: almost every single atheist I ever came across was a troublemaker, making fun of others for their beliefs as if they are so superior, and just plain ignorant, hate-filled and stupid. There's only 1 atheist friend I have, and that is because he is not what most of the small community is: a bunch of ignorant degenerates that spread their hate to every spiritual or religious person.

Just figured I'd lay that out there.

Yeah I've had that same experience bruh, Mostly online is when most of it is bad. In RL most people have been kinda reasonable toward me but they don't get as bad as a rep as Christians. When an atheist judges Christians and spreads the hate no one is like an atheist is so judgmental and self righteous but if we do the same thing "sound the alarm!" LOL I try to

I usually pay it no attention. I don't really bother with religious discussions because I don't feel like there is anything to really add or say. Believe what you want, and I believe what I want....

Same thing here lol. It's very sad and pathetic, most of them hide behind their pc screens and talk all that smack, but in person they don't get nearly as mouthy because I do not tolerate discrimination towards race and or beliefs or any kind, really. They are just a glorified crew, nothing more, nothing less. I exclude the actual intelligent and decent ones from that crew, though.

Just don't let any of those people dictate what you do or believe in, you do what you feel is best and right.

Not at all. They were all just your average Christian.

Anywho, go give astrotheology a try and thank me later.

And unfortunately your average atheist is just as bad, if not worst.
Nope, not at all. Your average atheist respects ppl's beliefs, silently disagreeing with them. Friend of mine got forced to go to church with his girlfriend and he went, saw and heard lots of silly things but keeps his opinion to himself. So do I.

Only when religious ppl try to give you advice using their faith will atheists open their mouth. Same for me. I silenced 50+ year old Muslims and Christians with simple questions and remarks. But I only did so after they got that smartass grin on their face as if they have a lot to teach me.

Anywho, I'm not an atheist.

Nope, I got plenty of em on my hit list that just don't know how to respect anything other then their pathetic disbeliefs. And it's a good thing I'm not the only one on here who can say such things. However, I understand where you're coming from, but don't try and defend them, ok?

Atheists open their stupid mouths at any given moment whenever any kind of religious or spiritual thing is mentioned on the internet, but less in person because they know they will get beat up if they try to attack religious or spiritual people off the net.

Anyway, if you're not atheist, good for you, you got an open mind, so we shouldn't have anything to bump heads over.

I forgot to add that what I said only counts for rl situations. Different story online.
And they don't necessarily stay quiet out of fear. You don't want to Change the atmosphere negatively when you're talking to friends, etc. So for the sake of peace, they keep their thoughts to themselves. And if a religious person would get violent over a disrespectful remark, they're not practicing their peacefull religion properly, right?
