[Discussion] Why did Kakashi become 6th Hokage?

It really makes no sense, why did he become Hokage after the war? Why did Tsunade step down? Kakashi didn't do nearly as much as Naruto and Sasuke did in the war, he didn't even do as much as Sakura did. He also lost his Sharingan. So why did Kishi make him the 6th Hokage?

When Tsunade was in a coma after the Pain arc, Kakashi was chosen to be the 6th hokage, but it wasn't official.

Tsunade was already relatively old, and she didn't want the job in the first place. Tsunade's healing talents are better suited actually healing and not spending time being the hokage. Kakashi can likely get more done that Tsunade as a hokage. Village may have wanted a new hokage that aided in the final fight to save everyone, not one that gets halved by a tree.
