hey guys i was thinking about making my own manga, and i have a pretty good storyline but i am pretty bad at drawing, everytime i try to draw bellow shoulder, i can never accomplish it, simply because i dont know how to connect those arms near the arm pit, infact i been struggling with that for years and everytime sit down and try to draw my own character, i cant draw anything bellow the collar bone

im just not talented at art, sorry.
but if someone is very good at drawing but doesnt have a storyline or what he wants to draw about i can help with that. since i already knew what i was gonna draw about. and whats the storyline is going to be.

if you want we could team up, similar how in bakuman, where one person is writing the story and the other person is drawing it. ;)

no one is talented... its all about hard work and the amount of time you spent on practicing ;)

my advice, dont let anyone else draw YOUR manga U_U make it yourself. go practice day and night until you become good enough. nowadays there are a lot of "how to" videos....
go check out mark crilley on youtube, he is genious

ine of his vids which might help you

ofcourse i check mark crilley videos, infact i have a whole book of printed how to draw pages of manga, especially dealing with drawing shoulders, anatomy and other things. i also do around 600 sketches of different human poses per year, but the problem every time i start drawing alot, my art starts to get worse, and every time i take a break and try again, i only manage to only draw one succesful picture and them my art quality goes down back again, due for some reason my art start to shake and iritate for no reason. i dont know how do i reach the pro level? what do i need to do besides mindless practicing that didnt accomplish anything for me! i need to be able to completely control my hand which what i see in my mind and so that i can draw it, but it doesnt work, thats why i gave up drawing.

nah man, instead of mindless practice, i would start doing challenges. like just imagine a position. make a sketch. try to make that sketch as realistic as possible. sometimes its good to use real life figures. sometimes i make a photoghraph of myself or some1 else in that exact position. or i use my action figures of my childhood as models. after you have the sketch it should be far easier to recreate that same pic, but on a far better level.

i wouldnt go by book step by step, since every person has another way of drawing and thinking and imagining the pics. do you get what i mean? ^^

it seems you are well prepared. i kinda dont believe you, when you say you suck at drawing ;) are you sure thats not just the typical artist-syndrom which makes you never satisfied with your own art?

maybe you could show one or two pics, so i can judge? :D

now first able before you say how good or bad this looks, like i said i suck at drawing an actual raw body, simply because i tend to get stuck at trying to draw the shoulders and upper chest, but if i draw the character when hes already wearing an armor then i tend to get away with my crappy proportions, also this is me being try hard here, took me like half a day to to scan it and edit it with manga studio, most of my work doesnt look this good.
i used wacom bamboo tablet

tbh ive never drawn a full body armor like that yet. what i would do is the following: i would try to draw that exact same position, but without the armor. (kinda like when he is naked) i would add the armor later on. the main problem of that pic is that the upper body issnt rotated(at least not fully. the shoulder pats lenght are ok, but the armo itself kinda looks like your facing it from the front)
also the face kinda seems strange, since there is such a big difference in art style/usage of tools and contrast. his cape needs to be more on his side. his left shoulder(right from our perspective) is kinda off and his arm too thick....his arms are too long, his legs too short

im sorry its hard to judge that only by words^^ i wish i had time to draw that pic for you right now and show you what i mean, but sadly i cant

i know what you mean the face sucks because the armor looks more realistic than the face, if i had added more final fantasy feel to my character with 3d hair and face, he would have looked better, and the armor seems to not turn fully, thats because it was too complicated, the right side suppost to drop down more and armor suppost to also cover the back of the neck, but when im dealing with too much things i tend to forget to revise everything, i might just redraw entire picture again.
