I am a Shikamaru fanboy and I'm glad he became Naruto's brains ... i envisioned this ever since that scene in Part One with shikamaru, naruto vs. gaara in the hospital. Shikamaru has never held any resentment towards naruto for being a jinchuuriki. He was part of the slackers in the Academy. I'm happy he ended up being Naruto's right hand man (Sasuke is his left hand man...literally)
