I can see your point here, but it should've been more than a few TV and headsets in the whole manga. You know, you don't make 699 chapters with close to no technologies at all, and then BOOM - it's a modern high-tech world in ~10 years after 699.

Maybe ... but do note the fact that those technology was reserved for the elite ,ie, the Damiyo and such .... Much like how once air travel was only for the elite of the elite but it became available for public in less than a decade after all settled. Not to mention ... CHakra in NV might have to do with something ... It allows far better analysis of nature and thus study of technology than we can in RL.

Anyway I personally think its actually a tease for the coming Naruto mini serieses.

You're joking, right? No gives too shits about the fodders I mentioned; on the contrary, people were actually curious as to what Orochimaru and Kabuto's future held.

Did Kabuto kill Orochimaru, or vice versa?

Was Orochimaru the one in the woods?

Was Orochimaru just killed off for the lulz?

Did the Five Great Shinobi Villages really allow Kabuto to just go back to his orphanage scot-free after all of the shit he's done?

In the end, Kishi is a god awful mangaka, and there are more questions that could have been, but weren't, answered in this chapter.

NV always had bits of modern technology, like electricity, TVs, antennas etc. Amegakure had a pretty futuristic look. And since the world was at peace for many years, technology could advance and cities grow.

And just think about the technological progress in our world. When I was a schoolkid, we had no mobile phones or internet at all, and that was only about 15 years ago.

What I don't understand is the city/technology thing. How can they have laptops and CN tower like sky scrapers, yet still have houses made out of wood? Plus it takes away from the whole "Leaf Village" feel.

Also, the kabuto/oro omission was a little surprising. We have fodders like Karui who were shown, yet one of the better villains in the series is not even given a mention. The hell? Was Kabuto and Orochimaru forgiven like Sasuke, or did they disappear? I hope the movie clears it up, but it does not seem to be about them.

I don't mind progress in general, it's just that it was too fast and rushed, to the point it looks unreal even in NV. Opinions differ, of course, but it seems I'm not the only one to think so.

Exactly. There was no single romantic moment with these characters in the whole manga, and now the epilogue is ALL about it?.. Makes 0 sense.

I agree with the OP and the other that agree with him! This ending is just piss poor beyond belief! I cannot believe Kishi managed to destroy his manga in a single chapter! Chapter 700 contains the worst asspullls of the manga by far!! It's sad really! Very sad...

This is the same mistake that Akira Toriyama made in the final chapter of DBZ, making Gohan a nerd and Trunks not willing to fight anymore, unless forced by his father Vegeta, etc. which easily made it the prelude for the abomination that is now known as Dragon Ball GT which only had two good sagas in them, the Baby and Shadow Dragon Sagas.

Since Part 3 is also confirmed, get ready for Naruto GT everyone! It will possibly be even worse than Dragon Ball GT if these spoilers are real! Which I hope they are not!
