In the first scan, we can see that SZ didn't needed Yamato anymore. Meaning he was sure that he won't be under IT and he left Yamato to let the God Tree catch and wrap him up.
Now, after IT, one day ended. And still, SZ was present at the same place where the shinobis were caught. And that too near Yamato. What was he doing whole day?
We can assume that after leaving Yamato's body, he encountered Hiruzen one-on-one, since Hiruzen called out Yamato, right?
And also Hiruzen was shown later means Hiruzen defeated SZ either by holding him under rocks (from the new scans)
But what made SZ losing his form after IT release?
I'm counting that he faked his death, since he was under Orochimaru's control through Curse Mark. Orochimaru might use him in the movie.
If not then I guess SZ is keeping check on Sasuke now. Means Part 3 incoming!!!

i believe spiral zetsu is a zetsu made from the it tree roots. when naruto and sauke undid the IT they undid him too.
