Shinobi or not, a mother is a mother. One thing a (good) mother always does is put her children before herself and anyone else. This might be a fictional story, but they're still human. It's not sexist at all, it's actually very responsible.​

This is an important question. Some of them, definitely. There's nothing wrong with being a stay-at-home mother if you want to be. I think most would share the responsibility. I'm sure there are some stay-at-home ninja dads too.

Actually, seeing as Choji and Karui are together, I could see Choji taking care of the kids.

It is sexist if all the kunoichi ditch their jobs for their brats, but in Japan gender roles are still very traditional when women have children. That doesn't excuse it, but it does explain why Kishimoto has done this.
