When madara was talking to obito he was thinking in his mind that he could use limbo but that could destroy the rinnegan so he didnt use it.
But anyway as we have seen already limbo´s weakness are the powers of the six paths by that i mean limbo clones can be seen with the doujutsu of the six paths e.g. rinnegan and can be sensed with the senjutsu of the six paths e.g. when madara was planning to use it, it wouldnt have worked since obito had a rinnegan so probably he was already aware of the limbo clone and also obito had just stolen the chakra of the 1 tail and 8 tails plus senjutsu of the six paths from madara, as a prove of that we see obito was able to regain his omnyudon staff, so obito can see limbo also can sense limbo and also has the perfect defense to counter it e.g. kamui so limbo wouldnt have worked on obito at the time.
