this is a compilation of almost about every single reason why gta 4 was better than gta 5. And im not just talking about gta 4 im talking about gta 4 and also including TBOGT and TLAD

also some additional reason why gta 4 was better than gta 5 was because gta 4 had 6 star wanted level with noose swat teams attacking you, also gta 4 allowed you to view the camera when having *** with a hooker in the car :3
and yeah ill say it again THE GAME IS F*CKING 6 YEARS OLD AND IM STILL FINDING NEW THINGS!

1. Better written characters( if michael, franklin, trevor died off in future dlc i wouldnt care a bit lol
2 Better story
3. Better driving physics
4. Better damage model (vehicles)
5. Better melee fighting system
6. No recovering health
7. No overpowered special abilitys
8. Only one playable character
9. Faster loading
10. Better ending(s)
11. Better crowded city
12. More and better moral decisions to make
13. No social media & smartphone bullsh*t
14. Infinite Vigilante
15. Good looking super cars/sports cars (except for the Infernus  )
16. Pedestrians don't call the police on you for standing next to them
17. No terminator accuracy police
18. Better multiplayer with more options to mess with
19. Niko Bellic.
20. Blista Compact
21. Better ragdoll physics, I still lmao when people fall after I ran into them or in the train station stairs.
22. Pickable random objects and you can throw them at people.
23. Pool.
24. Bowling.
25. A lot of friends and better friend activities and things to do with them, even if they don't like something you can still go there and do it.
26. Better subway.
27. Funny cops (fat cops mostly).
28. Beaten mode in pedestrians after the bars in the health circle are gone.
29. Better and limited amount of ammo and weaponry (more realistic)
30. Better indirect connections between the main protagonists
31. The feel of being a real criminal
32. Bowling/Roman Phone calls.
33. Sonofliberty
34. interior taxi view
35, The little details such as hidden interiors in Beechwood City and random hidden parks in Algoqnuin
36. more funnier radio stations
37. No Trevor Phillips.(ignorant bully SOB that doesnt care about his friends compared to niko bellic
38. No peds who run off crying to the cops at any excuse imaginable.
39. No exaggerated bullsh*t.
40. No unlikable protagonists. (Luis is a cantidate actually, but I will cut him some slack because 25 missions may noy have been enough to develop him as a character. Besides, the guy is f*cking hilarious. "Oye you making my eyes water man, you ugly". Also, I like his screams for some reason. "SHIIIIIIIIIIT! NO, NO, NOOOOOOOOOO! AHHHHHHHHH!" Plus, I really liked when he stood up for Brucie.)

(Niko and Johnny need no explanation for why they are awesome. Michael is O.K. but his character is sometimes inconsistant. Franklin is f*cking boring, and Trevor is the worst of them all.)

41. YELLOW CAR!!
42. You can kick people in the nuts as one of the fighting moves for when you dodge and counter-attack
43 Much more fun to ride a helicopter. In V it was not fun because you had that stupid turbulence. The turbulence should at least be removed if you max out the flying stats of your character.
44. Focus was on SP rather than online.
45. City is more realistic to NY
46. City feels more alive
47. More criminal related activities
48. Better crime activities on streets
49. Better police system
50. Better shooting system
51. Being able to crouch
52. Better music, radio stations are done better. More talk radio, too.
53. Cars sound a lot better
54. More variety of law enforcement vehicles (NOOSE Cruiser, NOOSE Patriot, Annihilator, FIB Buffalo etc) that are utilized and sent after you
55. Cops try to chase you realistically, not just ram you. They also pit maneuver you realistically.
56. You have to find the best supercars and not just buy them. Owning them is more rewarding.
57. Blista Compact
58. Hotdogs
59. Burgershot
60. Cluckin Bell
61. LCHC (Hardcore Punk and many genres of Metal)
62. Johnny Klebitz
63. Jim Fitzgerald
64. Clay Simons
65. Terry Thorpe
66. Nightclubs
67. Immersion
68. Air Hockey
69. Rewards for friend outings
70. Funnier pedestrian comments
71. Better choice of clothing (sometimes more isn't better)
72. A heist that was actually for yourself
73. Less government activity
74. More Challenge in missions
75. Feels like the GTA that started it all
76. Roman Bellic
78. stranger missions have more use to the story (Certain characters become a random character mission if you let them live)
79. Weapons were better and balanced (let me explain, in GTA V, some weapons feel useless such as the combat pistol compared to the pistol. However in IV you only had 2 of each weapon type, each had their own advantages and disadvantages.)
80. voice acting is much better done
81. More action and badass fights moves in cutscenes (Niko breaks Dardan's arm/defeats Brucie twice, Johnny punches a guard/kicks Ray's gun, Luis kicks the Chinese Mobster's gun and knock him out with a punch...)
82. Better developed and unforgettable villains like Dimitri, Vlad, Bulgarin, Billy.
83. Dancing.
84. Rain ambient is better.
85. That ear ringing sound from explosions
86. You can take damage and survive an explosion
87. The car explosions chain much less stupidly
88. Food stands
89. 6 star wanted levels
90. no micro transactions
91. Yusuf Amir
92. Stallion
93. Better rain effect
94. Those badass pistol executions. Not just shooting a character like a random pedestrian you can shoot every time you want, that's basically what Rockstar did with GTA V. It's quite boring, I prefer those little cutscenes in GTA IV because you really feel you put an end to the characters.
95. A lot of emails to answer on the Internet Café. Niko's mother, Roman, Brucie, Johnny's brother, Luis' brothers..
96. Dukes (Car)
97. No forced hitmarkers
98. No forced flashing screen
99. Police computer
100. Little Jacob.
101. Girlfriends.
102. Being able to mix almost every cloth like you want.
103. Water saves you after falling.
104. You have to brake before cornering
105. When you die in GTA Race you respawn with a ***gio.

108. No catchup in race
109. No slipstream in race
110. No pay to win (shark cards)
111. No online grinding.
112. The steam coming up from the manhole covers looks better.
113. more precise control as a pedestrian.
114. Arab Money
115. Cheesy vaginas and funny one liners from peds and cops.
116. Six years out, still discovering new things.
117. Cars actually have suspension when driving
118. Cheats are saved on your phone so you can access them quicker
119. Supercars are more rare
120. Ability to shimmy
121. No stupid faceplants
122. Much better cars spawning system.
123. Better radio stations (much more consistent)
124. Restaurants
125. Street vendors
126. Weapons are much more balanced
127. Game wasn't copying SR series.
128. Fully developed train system.
129. Super GT is awesome, much prettier than Rapid GT or Massacro.
130. can access previous mission locations, in buildings
131. Stevie's car thefts
132. Little Jacob's drug dealing
133. Eddie Low
134. No "wierd" turbulence
135. Police can arrest pedestrians
136. Liberty City
137. Better shaders
138. Swing set glitch
139. Pedestrians don't freak out and call the police when you stand nearby someone for 5 f*cking seconds
140. Police Dispatcher Radio
141. Better/Funner Airport, especially with a group of players online
142. Police dialouge is more varied and funny

162. Vincent (late 90's variation similar to a real life galant)
163. Intertwined stories in dlc
164. GPS voice

168.Memorable story and awesome characters
169.better radio
170.Unrestrictive multiplayer

TLDR gta 5 is still tons better than gta 4. I do admit that gta 4 seems like a longer game. Gta 5 I beat rlly quick. Gta 4 I never actually beat, and I still spent quite a bit of time in the story.

I like both games, but I like GTA V more just because the combat was better, the map is bigger, you have more freedom to do whatever the hell you want, and the fact you can create your own game types and maps. My only complaint is the multiplayer leveling system.

I actually thought 4 was one of the worst, I to this day haven't been able to make it through the boring ass story.

IV shits on any GTA in terms of story and characters but i honestly i had wayyy more fun with V.

Trevor was epic, i prefered the setting, missions were more fun, soundtrack was better, brought back tanks, could pimp out your rides and shit, was just more fun.

I think Trevor is a hideous disgrace. Don't know why players dig him so much.

He's psycho but he's far from brave. He talks of loyalty but uses his 'friends' to risk their lives helping him out.

Niko would never put his family and friends in danger, as seen in the final mission where he objected Roman (if he's still alive) and/or Jacob throughout the pursuit and telling them to leave before storming the warehouse. His rescue of Roman from Dimitry's goons was pure heroic, and the taunt / dialogue made it even more so.
Niko's loyalty and bravery is seen in many missions.

how? gta 5 was a let down for making entire story focus on the feds, i mean atleast gta 4 focused on an actual character struggling to survive in the new country and having the getting into crime, also the dlcs were brilliantly executed by telling the story in the different perspective and then crossing over together.

What dude? You're not making any sense. They're two different story concepts, if every GTA game had the same story it would be lame. It's all about getting money, that's what they're all about,

And of course if you're robbing banks your gonna deal with the feds. The dlc's were also boring in my opinion. Being in a biker gang was lame, that's why the guy was killed in GTA V. Nobody liked that.

GTA V captured the feeling of LA. NY has a lot of immigrants so of course the main guy would be one in IV, but all of your reasons are bs.

doesnt matter
Niko Bellic is a character that I can always connect to whenever I play GTA IV. Something that I find that is missing in V. Niko's struggle in LC, Roman's struggle in LC, all of the characters of the IV with their own different struggle in LC. It is something I think that is powerful. Like I have mentioned before. GTA IV has something of a great unique atmosphere, and I'm not hating V, but I can't find myself "settle" with driving around LS, or the characters for that matter.

Los Santos gets boring really fast, and its surrounding areas are just bland. in Liberty city there is just soo many places to hide, discover, run down apartments, hidden alley parks, pedestrians going about their day, vendors selling food, and workers on telephone poles just to name a few. The atmosphere really pulls you in.

also since gta 4 had unlockable's parts in the city, it almost felt you bough your self another game when those parts became unlocked, but in gta 5 every thing was just speed fed open to you from the start.

That sounds like personal biased, you may be an immigrant or something idk but that story was the hardest for me to relate too or care about. And more than half of those reasons were false, IV in no way had a better vehicle crash animation, the graphics aren't as good as V.

I've played the shit out of every GTA game and GTA IV definitely didn't have more to discover, you just didn't look or try to look around Los Santos. Firstly GTA V was the biggest world yet, rockstar hasn't made a game with that many layers to it. Partly because they were new to the ps3 hardware when IV came out. This is fact, I'm not just talking out of my ass.

GTA V was available from the get go because the world was living. GTA IV wasn't a constant sandbox, the ps3 didn't know how to utilize it at the time. All the games post V had unlock able areas because the game couldn't run that world full time, whenever you went to one area the other area would stop. It's a dated sandboxing technique.

Plus V is the best selling GTA game, people loved San Andres and wanted to go back. IV barely sold as many copies as Vice City.

gta 4 on the other hand was more dense smaller, but had much more things packed into it.

how do you think gta v surpasses iv besides that?
Better story? Nope. Better characters? Nope. Better graphics? And? Better physics? f*ck No! Better Missions? That dont make anysense, Underwater? and its pointless and gets boring quick? Country side? Yeah but what else? Its just there for the looks, no interiors, or anything. Mountains? Bland and vegetation-less. IV>V

they even took the feature where you could acess previous buildings like in IV, remember i was doing a side mission where you had to enter a night club bar in gta v to talk to some dude and that that night club became closed, which is pathetic, how rockstar decides to create more restrictions in their games, in gta 4 you could atleast expore some hidden locations and places, while in gta 5 every location is already given to you on the map.

and yes im an immigrant

But you could access all of those areas, I bet you didn't even discover half of the stuff you can do in that "boring forest". I've witnessed a drug deal gone bad, rednecks on bikes chasing immigrants, ufo's in the sky, a guy dressed as big foot, signs from the illuminati, and much more all random real time stuff, not missions or side quests.

Yes it had a better story, had better graphics, had better physics, and better missions. GTA V also had more building you could enter. The only ones you could enter in IV were story related. Also the GTA V night club never closed, idk what you're talking about.

You should actually try playing the game, it doesn't even sound like you played it enough. GTA IV isn't a bad game by any means, but it seems like you're just trolling so I'm done.

gta 5 doesnt have more interior gta 5 interiors are freaking terrible!! it also doesnt have better physics, gta 5 cars feel like cars from watch dogs with very choppy collision system, in gta 4 cars have suspension, depth, realistic braking and better crash physics. and yes the night club in gta 5 did close, thats why you werent able to enter it after completing the mission.

three character system more realistic? rest didnt read, your a moron gta 5 is no where as realistic as gta 4, the cops in gta 5 are like AI robots, they never miss where your running from them on the car.
where in gta 4 you would occasionally see bullets fly inches away from you while your running let alone driving.
also in gta 4 you could see taxi in first person inside the cabin.

LOL NO. gta 4 doesn't have better driving physics.

>pull the brake
>car stops after 3 miles of sliding
>quick turn? Not possible

Now GTA V had more of an arcade type driving style, like midnight club. Which was actually good, since you could level ur car in the air as well.

and many other things are BS in the OP.

I agree with, however, that GTA 5's story is shit. Niko's character was much more interesting, funny, his european accent, his calm personality. He was great, he's my sec fav after CJ.
