I have just finished reading The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Jekyll drank a potion that allowed him to turn into Hyde, who was an evil and murderous man. Jekyll eventually started to turn into Hyde unconsciously in his sleep. Cavendish can turn into his evil alter-ego, Hakuba, unconsciously in his sleep also. Cavendish Square is a location in the book, and I think that Oda read it and decided to name Cavendish off of this location, and then make Cavendish like Dr. Jekyll. I'm sure that this has been pointed out before though.

It wouldn't be the first time Oda makes a connection with something.

Oda can read english?

Yes because fairy tales, Mythology and other fictional stories are only available in English right ?

------------------

Also this theory is as old as the first time Hakuba appeared. Look at Rommel, it's basically London.

------------------

As for writing him a letter, you can't send him anything in English. Arlong Park Forums once sent him a letter as a group for a contest to suggest a theme for an SBS and Oda picked their RPG theme and included it in his SBS and commented on their site about how cool it was that so many people overseas are interested in One Piece.

I found this in the Cavendish's OP wikia under trivia

Cavendish shares his name with
"The Navigator" Thomas
Cavendish , an English explorer
and privateer.

He seems to have a European
fairytale and folkore theme:

White horses have a special
significance in mythologies
around the world.

His epithets may be
references to the heroic
princes or white knights in
fairy tales .

His sword has the same
name as the legendary sword
of the Frankish hero Roland .
His alter ego's name, Hakuba (白
馬, Hakuba? ), means "white
horse", which is one of
Cavendish's nicknames.

Hakuba's epithet, "Kamaitachi", is
a reference to the sickle weasel
(鎌鼬, sickle weasel ?) from
Japanese folklore that cuts
people up so fast it is as if the
victims were cut by the wind.

Oda didnt use Dr. Jekyll and Mr.
Hyde as a reference but he used that "sickle weasle" from japanese folk lore
source :

Ask him who's stronger...
Shanks vs Mihawk
Smoker vs Zoro
Pica vs Vergo
Kaido vs Shanks

xD
:vision:

You forgot Dragon vs Shanks and Luffy vs Ace.
Dragon>Shanks
Luffy>Ace
