Databook nature releases refer to what natures they have and here's why

Notice how the older characters have more natures than the most of the younger characters? It's because the geezers have had time to learn nature release techs. Hiruzen, Onoki, Danzo, Tsunade, Jiraiya, and Orochimaru all have more nature releases than the younger characters. The natures next to the character bios isn't referring to their affinity, it's referring to the natures they've learned. You can only have 1 affinity. that was the point of Kajashi's special chakra paper, to discover what your 1 affinity is. If there ever is a part 3 and a 5th databook, we could see the younger characters have even more natures.

So, basically, we've underestimated some characters. Sai is actually pretty beast, and so is Neji.

I'm guessing she still practiced jutsu in case of emergency, fighting is NV's way of life. They might retire from missions, but I doubt they ever retire from learning jutsu.

Tsunade grew up in the middle of a war, I'm positive she didn't get by with just physical strength. Plus I'm sure she didn't get her legendary name solely from her physical strength either.

It's also been stated in the manga that the Senju (she is Senju) don't focus on one affinity of ability but rather mutliple ones, expanding their justu and strength. Which is why Hashi and Tobirama both can use all 5 natures.

I'm not denying her elements, heck no, I'm her greatest fan! But the original poster claimed that the older ones have many affinities since they're old, but Tsunade quit being a ninja about 20 years before the series beginning.

He's a senju, Hashirama's brother, a genius, grew up in war, it's easy to believe he had jutsus of all natures.

He's a Senju, and he isn't that young. He's like in his mod to late 40s is he not? Plenty of time to learn all elements.
