As for Naruto, does he even lift?..or does he depend on external elements such as chakra and Senjutsu to do the job for him? ​

Ninjas are far stronger than normal humans physically. Can any human jump from one tree to another, and send someone flying with just a single punch? Genin Naruto has better strength feats in base than even the strongest human alive as he could throw his clones and himself flying far away, could protect himself against a giant anaconda by preventing it from closing its mouth; Obito could bust a wall with pure physical strength. So why will they lift?? Only Gai, Lee, Raikages, Killer bee and may be tsunade lifts.

Gai's Night Gai may be strong, but he always moves in high speeds (subrelativistic to relativistic) while attacking (whether evening elephant or Night Gai) which adds a lot of momentum to his attacks. We haven't seen him punching or kicking while standing still ever. That is why I included that message at the beginning. But I will respect your opinion.

All of Gai's strength comes from speed due to him moving at high speeds( sub-relativistic to relativistic while in Eighth gates) which generates a lot of momentum(like how a running lariat>> a standing one) . Show me one scan of him destroying PS with a punch or kick while standing....show me one lifting feat that surpasses SM Naruto's feat, otherwise get lost. U_U

4th Tailed Naruto doesn't have any lifting feats to compare with that sword lifting feat of Tsunade.
But striking power of 4th tailed Naruto> Tsunade. Orochimaru could tank Tsunade's chakra enhanced punches, but he got ripped in half while four tailed Naruto hit him.
