The trailer says that the timeline of the movie is 2 years after Naruto vs Sasuke battle. Also during the war, Hashirama (or) Kabuto gave him a jutsu/Hashi's DNA respectively. So, like Madara, it might take effect after a big time. SO we have all the conditions satisfied.
1) Uchiha blood
2) Hashi's DNA
3) Near Death experience (during Naruto vs Sasuke)

He might be having that ability but going to use for good.
Also the movie trailer says that Naruto is out of the village when it's attacked or the moon falls on the earth And Sasuke says something like because of "his" absence I'll have to protect the village.
If Naruto has to be the main hero to defeat the villain then Sasuke must also play a big role against the main villain. And to hold/damage the villain until then, I guess Sasuke would need both the Uchiha and Senju abilities.

In my honest opinion Mokuton doesn't Suit Sasuke so I don't really expect him to use such a jutsu it's more suited to Naruto having been foreshadowed as been seen similar to the 1st and being the grandson of the 5th Hokage through the 1st's Wife I think it's more logical that Naruto would be seen using it more then Sasuke.

Sasuke did say he would find a way to be immortal... Good point, idk if he would have all the same Justus, but he has the right pieces for him to explore like Madara whom he seemed very intrigued with in my opinion
