The Pain Invasion. Up until that point it seemed that capturing the tailed beasts was pretty easy, except B. I understood them killing Jiraiya because he infiltrated their home, but it shocked me the lengths they went to capture Naruto. They would have killed every person if Naruto hadn't shown up and most of the village got destroyed. That kind of shocked me.
