Could Itachi have killed Ay?

Itachi using genjutsu to one-shot his opponent is a fight for him. It's always been like that. Kishimoto even describes the character as someone who takes no enjoyment in battle and wishes to end a fight quickly at all costs.

Ay isn't going to come at Itachi automatically knowing where he is and blitz him. The man can't fight with his eyes closed, he's not a sensor. He'll look at him and he'll get caught in genjutsu. The probability of this occurring is much higher than Itachi dying because of Ay's obvious capability of blitzing him.

No, Totsuka blade isn't even needed for the fight.

I didn't mention characters since it's not needed if one follows the series. However, Deidara and Orochimaru come to mind immediately.

I assume he means reaction-wise and is meaning MS Sasuke. Itachi was stated to have the fastest hand seal speed in this manga. His hands move so fast that the sharingan can't even decipher the movements. :|

EMS is just a combination of two MS eyes. The genjutsu doesn't vary.

Itachi doesn't need to touch him. Genjutsu is all that's needed.

Raiton armor isn't protecting him from Tsukiyomi. U_U
He's not always in Raiton armor anyway.

Tsukiyomi requires direct eye contact. Who would look itachi in his eyes? Doesnt take a rocket scientist to prove that. He was only out of raiton armor because chakra loss. From fighting edo madara and 5 madara clones. Mind you with one arm.

Itachi is dangerous but his arsenal doesnt match good against Ay.

That's bias at its finest. There's no reason to believe Bee wasn't fighting with the same resolve as he had against Sasuke. (In case you forgot, Bee wasn't trying against Sasuke either.)

Itachi is faster than Sasuke, and Sasuke was able to dodge (albeit narrowly and in a linear fashion) a V1 Ay's strike.

Itachi also speed blitz'd a Sage Mode user. Speed isn't the issue here, it's the durability of the Raiton Cloak.
