[Spoilers] 698 Translation Issues

As you can see below this paragraph, Manga Bird and Manga Panda both have two very different translations for Sasuke in the upper right panel and the middle left panel. I know translational differences are common between the two sites, but these ones seem extremely different. If anybody has their hands on a more reliable translation or knows something that I don't, which is more accurate? Thanks ahead of time.

Viz is the official distributor for Naruto to American audiences. You have to pay to get their translations and they come out slower. Just google viz its like the first link.

Actually the viz sometimes can't translate some japanese jokes and puns exactly so they change the joke itself....that is why I said that.
Only one who knows Japanese can get those puns and jokes.

Mangapanda also sometimes mistranslates but usually they go for the literal translation even if it doesn't convey the expression correctly due to cultural difference or different styles of speaking. *********** often catches the expression better but it may turn mild language into extreme one or use phrases which were not in the original one at all. (Sometime back there was a clear bible reference which was not in the original chapter in Japanese but since MS used it there was a huge uproar about how could Kishi add it in the manga.. >_>)

This is the only reason why I can't take *********** seriously but it is better than manga panda
Moral of the translation problems are to either learn Japanese or wait for viz clarity threads. Or just support the manga and purchase the issues if it's affordable, especially if shonen jump is having a sale 20 bucks for a year subscription of weekly shonen jump and you keep all issues after. I am proud to say I support WSJ

The colourful language is actually in the raws I believe. Viz don't add things like that as they perceive it inappropriate for their "target" audience.

There are degrees of the colourful language. MP used it too. MS goes for stronger ones.

For the middle left panel:

I think Sasuke worries about other people accepting him after all he has done.
But since they all have been in IT for some time I dont think that would make sense since I doubt they will remember much, I theorize. So MP better version.

I think MS wants to dramatize it by portraying sasuke even more EMO and a loner, so I doubt this is what Kishi wants in this scene vs what MP brings. Thankfully we got MP =D

As for the first row -> right panel, the MS version makes no sense.

Edit: reread, thought about it, MS wins the first row xD. The connection between 1st and 2nd panel make more sense in the MS version.

Fixed for you. Raw Is always 100% better than viz. Viz is pretty much the closest translation possible. However as it is a translation, and there is a large culture gap, many things are lost in the translation process.

It makes no difference the translation on chapter 698 of the following by Sasuke "I Lost" iS I lost in any variant of English,Japanese,Spanish,Chinese it translates into any language as I LOST By Sasuke.
