They both lost the fight, but they gained a lot more.

No one won or lost this fight. It was a draw. They are both battered and bleeding, they can barely move or they might bleed to death. They fell asleep not knowing if they would ever wake up again. Sasuke did not admit that he lost the fight, he admitted that Naruto's belief and resolve in his ideals was stronger than Sasuke's own. That his revolution of hatred could not stand up to, Naruto's ideals.

He tried to hate Naruto, he tried to cut him out of his life by killing him and he finally had to admit that what he believed to be Naruto's weakness was actually Naruto's greatest strength and one that he himself admired. We thought he left the village because of jealousy of Naruto's growing power or because he wanted more power to get revenge on Itachi, he really left the village because his growing feelings of family toward Team 7 frightened him because he thought that was a weakness. He had to get rid of any weaknesses if he was ever going to reach his goal of defeating Itachi.

The fan boys and fan girls need to cut the crap. Naruto is not bragging that he won, he even said this was a fight between friends not one that Sasuke could win or lose. If Naruto doesn't believe he won, neither should anyone else.

At the end you can see a tear slide down Sasuke's face, I choose to believe that tear is for what they both won. They were each others only connection to the village because the both had no one else. They admired and respected each other and covered it over with rivalry not knowing how to show their feelings any other way. Their friendship meant more to each of them than either of them ever knew.

They truly felt like brothers toward each other, Naruto said as much to Itachi and Sasuke just told Naruto that he reminds him of Itachi. They were finally able to acknowledge each other so Ashura's and Indra's war is finally over. Sasuke won because he realized letting go of hatred is not a weakness and he got his friend back, Naruto won because he turned his friend away from the darkness. It seems to me they can both claim victory. They have won much more than they lost. They don't seem to be complaining about losing their arms either.

How did Naruto lose, he got what he wanted, he didn't want to beat Sasuke in a death match, he just wanted to stop Sasuke's revolution and redeem him, he accomplished both.

Victory isn't always about the fist fight.

It's a draw anybody who doesn't see that never believed when Kishi said they were equal. Sasuke is being friendly by saying he lost after naruto continues to try to fight him. Just like with a friend you'd say okay okay you win! just cut it out already we're wrecked

This is what I'm posting every stupid thread like this.

I wonder what you would of said when he would have died...nothing like this at all.
None the less sasuke isn't going to change, he doesn't look nice and friendly.

Naruto and Sasuke won in a sense, but I don't agree with you people when you try to make that entire fight about their goals and feelings. Childish.

Also because its just TnJ (words)

And this is the reply best given in regard to Sir Derp's.

Victory isn't always about the fist fight.

He said it best, it isn't always about the physical fight but it was more about the fight of Naruto trying to prevent Sasuke's goal of killing the Kage and his other goals regarding his revolution.

There is a Victory here for Naruto in the way he stopped Sasuke and achieved what he set out not only at the beginning of this fight but since Sasuke revealed what he was going to do...

Sasuke basically told Naruto to let him die and give his Rinnegan to Kakashi, that is giving up his ambitions.

Edit: Also its a Shounen manga, I told you before the hero always gets what he wants in a Shounen manga.

Heroes don't fail in Shounen, Naruto got what he wanted, Sasuke is going back to being a good guy.

I completely agree with everything the OP said, however, despite its nature as a "friendly" fight, Sasuke still admitted defeat. Though they both lost, and appear to be in equal condition, Sasuke most likely views himself as defeated, considering that he did not WIN, as he did in all previous clashes with Naruto. But overall, hey, Naruto and Sasuke are FINALLY friends again.

No he said if he dies dude.

This series isn't over, there's two more chapters, an entire canon movie. He hasn't given up in the slightest dude. That's an early assumption. Naruto didn't win either.

And you call us childish?...

Your either in complete denial what was shown in the last pages or hope in vein of something what won't happen, Sasuke look was that of defeat and he pretty much said that much (Look at Sig) he tied the physical battle but lost his only fight he wanted and that was to kill Naruto and continue with his Revolution which now isn't going to happen..

Naruto stopped Sasuke. He won. It's time to deal. Sasuke was willing to give his Rinnegan up to the same "outsider" he wanted to kill for using a Sharingan. I think it's safe to say he's given it up.

The amount of people in denial is astounding... Sasuke has just redeemed himself and revealed why he was the way he was, which was a similar thing in a way, to what itachi was doing ironically enough. Naruto won the ideology, Sasuke and Naruto tied it up. A perfect ending to a feud between two soul brothers, and two brothers from other mothers.

the only people are in denial are the one's spouting a tie clinging to the physical fight as their prove where the real battle was fought to stop the others goals which in this case Naruto was the winner and stopped Sasuke to which he admitted as much.

Naruto is victorious in his pursuit to save Sasuke from himself and prevent the slaughter of the Kage and protect the tailed beasts so that's still a win in that respect.

It's like winning a fist fight against someone who has the sole goal of killing the person you love but hey you beat him up but let him live only to see him later fight that person you loved and kill them anyway.

I truly liked your thread about neither of them winning the battle. Very well written and you make some good points. Good job! I wanted to rep you but I couldn't lol

Naruto lost, because Sasuke is not saying he will work with the alliance. He has no answer to Pain's question and no way of assuring the world will remain united or peaceful. In the end yeah he's just one dude, and a kid at that. He got Sasuke to admit they are friends, and to fight to a draw. But even Sasuke says he may oppose Naruto again one day, and he won't acknowledge the rest of the alliance. Sasuke doesn't have any intention of working with the Go-kage or the TB.

Also, I think Naruto has a bigger issue in dealing with the other villages. I doubt they are going to be too pleased to give Konoha all 9 TB and the Rinnegan.

Sasuke lost because he couldn't kill Naruto or accomplish his revolution alone. They both lost an arm, and they realize they're connected by blood and need each other, whether they want to need each other or not. That's what brotherhood is.

Kishimoto is telling us that mankind has no future, except to either learn to live together under common needs, or to die together in the peace of the common grave.

I don't see all 5 villages coming together and singing the peace song. But I doubt Kishi will clearly address it in the manga, as there isnt time for it.
