So i've been thinking about this lately...

OP has 10+ years left...

1 year=56 chapters... 56 times 10=560.

So One Piece has at the very least 560 chapters left which means that it'll be on for atleast 560 more weeks...are you guys really prepared to read 1 chapter a week for 560+ weeks? Thats alot of weeks... Do you think you'll stick around until OP ends? I would love to do that but 10 years....i love One Piece but in 10 years i'll be 27 years old. I might not be able to pull it off with consistency.

Do you guys think you'll be able to read OP until it finishes?
and do you think you can pull off 1 chapter each week for 560+ weeks?


Im dedicated to sticking around until it ends because OP is my favourite manga but at the time im 27 i might have alot of other things going on.

Edit: my bad there are 48 weeks in a year not 56.

why not??? it hasn't dipped in quality, actually it keeps getting better and better.....even now...IMO dressrosa is the best arc so far

To be fair, there are 52 weeks in a year. The manga takes a decent amount of breaks too, so it's more like ~45 chapters a year. Anyways, why not? It takes like ~5 minutes to read a chapter. Not very hard to do (once a week) if you ask me!

Acutally, it's likely it'll be closer to 40 chapters a year.

Just for reference, Jump has 4 breaks a year. We haev two during Christmas and New Years, 2 breaks in 3 weeks, then you have one for Goldenweek in April/May, then you have one in mid-August.

The way Oda's been going about things, he's been having breaks every 5th week, as in 4 chapters, then a break, 4 chapters then a break, etc. The way he has it set up,, he'll have about 6-8 personal breaks per year, plus the 4 magazine breaks, which means each year will have about 40-42 chapters. Over the course of 10 years that would be 400-420 chapters. Obviously, that's assuming he doesn't have any odd circumstances where he takes a break out of the blue. The last number of years, Oda's been taking more and more breaks, and i expect that trend to continue upward. It wouldn't surprise me at all that in 10 years, we won't have reached 400 more chapters written.

Personally, I think I'll read it all. In the near future, I might not be a weekly reader who stays up until 3am for the spoilers, but I think I'll still be into it.

1 year = 56 chapters? Damn, I would love that as oppose to the usual 52 chapters I don't think there will always be 52 chapters a year because of breaks/hiatus so I'd say it's 47-49 chapters a year. The manga hasn't dropped in quality so I'll stay and even if it did I'll still read it. Reading the chapters every Wednesday/Thursday only takes at most 5-10 minutes, sometimes even shorter so it won't be a problem. I don't think my future job will be a problem to the point where I can't spend less than 10 minutes to read a chapter every week. Staying on nb/OPB is a different story though.

im 33 and have been following for over 10 years on three of them. naruto op and bleach just read bleach manga cause the fillers and the way they killed it during a main fight turned me off the anime. ill read watch naruto and op its like a soap opera to me its been going so long. that is why im getting sick of oda's breaks. i want to see it end before im 50. me and oda are close in age so i get it, he may want to do other projects. but i think if thats the case he has enough underlings to do anime stuff and he can work on manga and movies and over see anime quality and advanced story points
