Yeah, not so much clarification as opinions. When Sasuke says "I might have accepted you, but I won't accept anybody else" I took this as his reason for going vagabond, not so much that others would reject him. My problem is just with the phrasing, as in another translation (admittedly an inferior one) he says that nobody else would accept him. Just wondering what other people make of this.

Relevant quote is here:

I'd take the "nobody else would accept me" one as the more accurate one. Sasuke not accepting anyone would be backwards character development.

I took that phrase as:

"Well, no one in the village will trust me and you would be the only one who does, so I might as well become a vagabond"

looks like we'll be waiting for Viz again

You're right, i haven't even noticed the two translations are completely different.

In MP's he wonders if nobody but Naruto will accept him.

In MS' he says he cannot accept anyone but Naruto (how romantic).

I guess our lords and saviours from Viz will have to clear it up.

Yeah, I was wondering if it was controversial. It seems like it is, sort of. Phrasing weird.

Not really.

It mirrors the Madara/Hashirama dynamic. Madara trusted Hashirama with his life, but it was the rest of the village and Tobirama that he didn't trust.

^ Which is exactly why it's backwards, isn't Naruto and Sasuke finally breaking the cycle and being different from Hashirama and Madara the point of the fight?

The quote from Sasuke given in the preview for The Last supports the *********** translation.

I was not aware of that one. Is it on Saiyanisland? If it is I'll look for it and link it myself.

EDIT: still can't find it. I'm not very good at this admittedly.

"If he isn't around(/here/there)...You have to be protected by me(/I have no choice but to protect you), i guess."

This doesn't really support MS' translation, Sasuke was always like this. But nothing is certain, of course. We'll see soon enough...

Necromancer is probably correct- that's my guess. Thanks for the quote.
