Would be pretty bad writing if Sasuke fights for the seat of Hokage now, seeing that Sasuke sees Itachi in Naruto.. and Itachi was the "true Hokage".​

Yes kakashi is the best choice for now , if naruto becomes the hokage the Same thing that happened between madara and hasirama will happen therefore ashura and indra rinnecrations are suppose to be eaqual (NOT necessarily in power)

Naruto would just have to slap some more sense into him, and perform the ninshu indoctrination again if he loses himself again.

True, Tsunade's a great example.. but.. no one else around Tsunade's power level was willing to take the seat of Hokage aside from herself. Kakashi was willing in part 2, when no one else around his power level was willing to aside from Danzo. I'm just sayin' that usually the power house takes the seat unless someone has a problem with it.

Still, I could see Kakashi being Hokage.​

I get what you saying, almost everyone in this base wants naruto to be the hokage but nadara also became good before he went all crazy and shit and that was because they weren't equal , therefore sasuke will do the same if they aren't equal unless kishi does some bullshit
