As of chapter 699, something a lot of fans guessed became reality. Sasuke's true feelings towards Team 7 and Naruto, how he thought of them and why Sasuke sought to be alone in the dark and cut all bonds he had. Sasuke admits that he always saw Naruto as a dear friend, he cared for Naruto and he started to view Team 7 as he did his family at one point. Sasuke without a doubt had deep care for his friends, and was willing to live a eternity in pain for them. Though he still wanted and to him he needed to cut all ties with them for one reason. He saw it as a weakness, this can be debated as to why he saw this but I think he saw it for a specific reason. The best way to attack someone is where it hurts, losing bonds hurts and Sasuke knows that. So if he cut off all other bonds, he would remove that weakness. However, Naruto did the opposite. He could live with the pain of not having bonds, so he went after those and decided to die before he lost any bonds by protecting his friends no matter what. They both care deeply for their friends, and they both wanted to best for the Shinobi world. They only have different ways of going on about it. In the last few chapters, we see that Sasuke is crying over Naruto's words. Proving that they are correct, Naruto and Sasuke both care deeply for each other and they have always done that. Sasuke had conflicted feelings about killing Naruto, as he saw him as a family, a comrade, a brother and his best friend. |
