[Discussion] Why do people say Luffy will beat Zoro?

Is it because Luffy is the captain? I think people need to look at details. Luffy's weakness is piercing attacks , which is Zoro's specialty , not to mention how powerful he is as a swordman , those facts speaks for itself. Secondly when Kuma extracted Luffys damage he had taken in the fight with Moria , Zoro took it and was still standing , where as Luffy was unconscious after taken that pain. And I'm not just saying this because of these facts , I think Zoro is genuinely stronger.

In the manga known as One Piece, Luffy>Zoro.

But Zoro did beat hordy though and if luffy beating zoro high or extreme diff is laughable.....your basically saying luffy could mid diff zoro then or maybe lower? dnt make me laugh mate...luffy and sanji teaming up to beat a pacifista means nothing all of them individually could beat a pacisfista so whats your point?

As someone said earlier; Zoro won't follow someone who he think is less powerful than him...

Now, Zoro in this arc is really close to Luffy unlike Pre-TS when he was closer to Sanji... Plus Luffy has CoK which for now hasn't got any major effects against high level opponents but IMO it makes a great deal in a fight which will be mentioned later in the series...

For now, Luffy is faster, stronger and have better Haki than Zoro and Sanji combined together IMO again... But there isn't anyone who Luffy can beat but Zoro can't...

The one and only time we could really compare the M3o was at EL and it went Luffy> Zoro=> Sanji

Luffy must be stronger than other crew members and Zoro should always be < /near equal to Luffy. The best Zoro can hope is near equal and he can never be equal to Luffy.

Lol @ People thinking that Sanji is Zoro's level. Both Luffy as well as Zoro left him in dust and it is clear at least from what we have seen.
