At first I just read the title and responded saying no he doesn't because well, he doesn't.

Then I read the thread and your main point is that he can provide a good defense, and it gets stronger in Sage mode. But that defense is useless in the face of such speed as Gai.

Hashirama never fought Madara Juubi Jin, yet he barely won against normal Madara.
