The Amaterasu downplay thread

People on NB downplay just about everything. Naruto blocked Amaterasu using bijjuu chakra, Kurama gave him. That's nice but it still one shots anyone not using a cloak or avoiding the technique with insane speed. Alot of ninja aren't capable of this but Amaterasu is a great technique for distraction, can be a powerful defense against powerful enemies.


Who has Amaterasu failed against.

1. Kaguya (strongest of all)
2. Madara
3. Naruto
4. Nagato
5. Juubi
6. Hebi Sasuke
7. Raikage

All of whom are more than capable of fending off the attack. Most of them who are a respectively top 10 and have sage or really good abilities that make them a god against normal ninja.

There are ninjas who can't do anything against Amaterasu such as

1. Minato,
2. Jiraya
3. Sm Naruto
4. Most kages
5. Tailed beasts no juubi/
6. Most Summons.

Now is this list pretty bad for a 1 shot MS technique? I don't think it's so bad it's gets the downgrade treatment on NB.

It should be obvious that ama is dangerous & a potential match-ender, but against high level opponents it would serve as nothing more than a diversion, as sasuke himself said.

Only reason it failed on Nagato was because he was an Edo. He would have already been dead.

Plus I'd like to add that Amaterasu and Enton are almost not even the same. Amaterasu burns slowly, but enton pierces and penetrates

To be fair, Nagato and Ay both would have lost eventually. Ay needed a decent amount of prep time and prior knowledge of the technique and warning sighs, and Nagato only survived because he was an Edo. Nagato's arms and legs were still severed before he could dispel it.

If you aren't someone with a powerful absorption technique, or top 3 speed in the world, you're not surviving Amaterasu.

Enton is just ama control, the only reason why it would pierce & penetrate is because sasuke is making it into a blade.

I agree about the enton and amaterasu thing. Enton is far greater than amaterasu. The ability to manipulate the flames instead of just spawning them is alot better. I think nagato would have countered amaterasu while being alive with his rinnegan/ sensing abilities.

It's a great technique and I do wish it were a lot less downplayed recently as it almost is always ineffective. That said, Minato would be hit by it......If Gaara tanked Amaterasu with his sand then Minato would manage to create a solution to it...for example say, the Kyuubi cloak he can easily use.

Well I wasn't talking about enton that Gaara blocked or Edo Minato using Bm cloaks ofc.

That's enton that Sasuke has complete control over. IF Minato were really hit the rasenshuriken and flames would have exploded on him.

also add gaara, orochimaru,kabuto amaterasu dont wor kon them, minato and jiraiya have counter and gyuuki (hachibi ) survived it and kurama can tank it
and every jinchuriki can tank it also third raikage and tobirama can avoid it /thread/

but wait if fodder #1933 has samurai armor then he will survive

As far im concerned minato jumped in the attack regardless of which part of the attack would touch him because it was a fodder technique
