What would have happened if Itachi was still alive when Pein attacked Konoha village?

Had Itachi still been around to encounter Pain to realize that Pain was going to destroy the Leaf Village, that would've been an epic fight, what could have been the possible outcome? I also wonder if Itachi fought Pain, would Kisame have Itachi's back for being his friend, or stay loyal to the Akatsuki.

Itachi would still most likely get beaten badly, but it would have been a awesome moment :snick: 

The only thing that would be more epic than the battle would have been if Pein and Itachi spoke about the shinobi system to eachother, that would been one hell of a talk.

the weakness of pain is genjutsu , nagato couldn't handle the genjutsu of jiraiya , so... he wouldn't handle the genjutsu of itachi either , so...

and then kisame would destroy the other paths... after nagato finished tsukuyomi one , he would totsuka that one and then kisame would figure out that one of the paths could absorb chakra , but since itachi is the best in taijutsu , he would wreck that pain..

itachi and kisame would win.

Another possible scenario,
If Itachi is in the village means under Kakashi, it'd be f*ckin' awesome to see this duo against Pain... That'd be an interesting match, given they'd still lose unfortunately...

Please read the manga, Itachi does not have any sound genjutsu which works on Itachi and Sasuke too. Sound genjutsu works on the ears, Sharingan is visual genjutsus which the Rinnegan should protect him from and Itachi didn't even try using genjutsu on him so he probably knew it was useless on Nagato. Kisame joined Akatsuki because he sided with Obito, he's trust him over Itachi so he won't be siding with Itachi and would fight with Pein. Itachi doesn't know any of Nagato's path jutsus while Nagato knows about Utachi's 3 MS jutsus thanks to Zetsu recording every battle. Even with Kisame they both would lose.

Deva path pulls Samehada from Kisame, have his lizard summon eats it then it poofs away. Have his bird fly high up dropping exploding eggs on Itachi and Kisame while weapon path shoots missiles at them. Itachi would have to use Susanoo to not her hit from that barrage but the longer he has it up the more it kills him as he coughs up blood. Deva path pushs Susanoo with Kisame and Itachi inside it miles away as a weakened Deva Pein did to 3 gaint toads that are each roughly Susanoo size and they broke their bones so Itachi's weak body isn't surviving the impact of Susanoo rolling around and crashing across the landscape.

Bird flies the summon path to where they crash and summons the other paths there. Weapon path shoots his laser at their bodies for overkill then they leave.

Nagato would sense Itachi plus he has shared vision focused on him so that isn't happening. Deva path would send Susanoo flying miles away.

Except if you knew anything about Itachi then you would know his Max was 4 MS jutsus and you would know using Susanoo himself is what killed him as it had him coughing up blood then die shortly after. Using 4 Susanoo would kill Itachi the moment those clones disperse and a Deva Pein that was weakened from using a ton of chakra in almighty push send 3 giant toads flying miles away from him and each toad is roughly the size of final Susanoo so what do you think would happen when a fully powered Deva would do? Plus he can send 4 of his summons at those 4 Susanoo's to delay them then use Deva to push them all away or he can easily have the Peins fly high out of Susanoo range with his bird summon.

Also he have low chakra reserves so he's not going to eve be able to use 1 MS jutsu if he makes 5 or 6 clones since clones evenly split the chakra amongst each clone. Itachi would have a better chance taking out some of the Pein's if he had full Intel but he doesn't have Intel while Nagato did have Intel on Itachi's jutsus. Plus it's highly highly doubtful that his clones can have Totsuka blade and Yata mirrors when Naruto's clones don't have TSB. Totsuka and Yata are not Susanoo base weapons but weapons Itachi found.
