[Discussion] Toei's unbearable pacing is putting me off OP...

Why Toei, why? Your pacing sucks and its ruining the OP anime. They go way to slowly, then does a quick burst of action that covers 3 manga chapters, then back to being slow again. I remember back in episode 656-659 they talked the entire time, occasionally showing a bit of action from Law and Doflamingo. Sometimes getting back to Block D, which had lasted about 25 episodes even back then...

They should consider doing a filler arc after the Dressrosa arc ends in the anime. After that filler arc (roughly 5-10 episodes), do a cover story arc for the anime only fans. I can't even imagine having future arcs with this terrible pacing. A 5-7 month "hiatus" from the OP canon material would be fine by me but you know it's Toei, money hungry as usual.

Or the easy escape route is to give the rights to Madhouse. Lol jk.

I knoooooow. I think I started disliking the anime once I discovered the manga. They stuff so much crap to stretch out an episode to make it one chapter's worth. The D Block was annoyingly long and uninteresting to me and the chase with Law and Doffy was too much. I wouldn't mind if they went on a hiatus for a while.

i read tha manga just fine. but i cant deal with the anime the pacing is ass draggingly slow. idiots who only watch one series would realize it but the animation is sub par most of the time and only good when theres action from the main cast.

That's why there is a Manga. It's sad to see OP's Anime being like that but atleast we have the amazing Manga to read.
It won't change as long as toei has the right to make the Anime..

I agree, I was practically done with the anime in Punk hazard. It felt like episodes were consumed with the G-5 marines just shouting outside Caesar's laboratory trying to get inside. The music though, is why I still watch a bit. The d block felt like it was tremendously stretched.

I wish Toei would just sell the rights, I personally like the art style, but they should really get new writers. When people read the amazing manga, they naturally just go to the anime and praise it for no good reason. I realized when the Dressrosa arc came out, it just became boring. I'm going to drop it and stick to the manga, even though I'm not a huge fan of manga, at least until they get a new studio to make the anime...

That's not going to fix the issue. Even watching the episodes in a bulk is bad. Only hope is One Pace.

For all of you saying its been like this since Alabasta, at least Luffy did stuff in Alabasta. Many episodes in the Dressrosa arc are just flashbacks and most of them are talking or mindless action scenes like Block D...

The Anime started to be garbage after the MF arc, atleast for me.
Tho the Manga was always my first choice when it came to OP.

Bullshit !

it's 1 chapter = 1 episode.

So 1) they don't go slow
2) There are no bursts
3) Its'exactly as fast as the manga

There are bursts, do you remember how insane the fugitora and Doflamingo vs Law part of this arc was, starting at about 655 it was all just flashbacks...
