Cookies suck. I don't like cookies. There's a clear difference between the two. Again, learn to differentiate. o_O Appraisal and preference are two damn different things. lol. If I don't like Shakespear does that mean he sucks? Nah, it just means that I don't like him, not that's he, or his pieces, are bad.

Oh yeah because Toriko is oh so subtle and deep.

no Toriko isn't deep but neither are TG or SNK :/

and I never said that SNK or TG suck, I just said they weren't my cup of tea lol

Are you implying that the amount of text of one random chapter that you sampled equates to how complex a manga may, or may not be? Please say that it isn't the case...please.
Also, why comment on an adaption when in many cases adaptions are very inferior to the original source?
Toriko = Eat, Drink, be Merry. Uh, okay? So deep bro.
Not necessarily. You said straightforward manga, so in that case TG is a lot more "straightforward" than Toriko since it has little to no dialogue. I also checked other chapters and even the recent chapters of TG:RE, the dialogue is very little and that's what you call a "straightforward" manga.

TG was following the manga till a certain point. Even if I read the manga, I doubt my opinion will change. AoT had a pretty good adaptation and the anime is enjoyed among it's fandom. Toriko is more complex than just about food/eating. Just like how AoT/TG are more complex than what there plot is about. Like I said before, all/most series have complex themes/concepts, it's not just exclusive to AoT/TG. However, TG is much more easier to read than Toriko. Not to say that Toriko is difficult to read or even remotely close but when you compare the two in terms of content/dialogue per chapter you can clearly see which series is more "straightforward".

Sure they're not.

Erm, I don't quite know how to reply to this because what you've said is uhh...pretty dumb?

Okay, but I think you may be confusing expansiveness with complexity.
And again, the quantity of dialogue doesn't mean much...

Well since you claimed that I read series that are straightforward and require no brainpower to follow, I brought up the content/dialogue in each chapter. TG is much easier to follow/read than Toriko, that's my point and it's clear. Now which series is more complex? Ask someone who's caught up to both series. I'm saying that complexity isn't only evident in TG/AOT, most if not all series have some sort of complexity to it. I'm not confusing the terms either since I never said that having a lot of dialogue/content = complexity. It may lead to have complex concepts but it doesn't guarantee it.
