Idea for a legitimate story

EspadaraUchiha here, bringing something that (for once) isn't fanfiction!

My idea was about a man who lives a pretty crappy life. His girlfriend (of whom he has a child with) has been cheating on him for years, the kid isn't even his, his family hates him, he has a crappy job, and all of his friends don't have any time for him. The one good thing about is life is this High school girl who sometimes talks to him and cheers him up.

He eventually decides that enough is enough, and goes to kill himself. He quits his job, kicks the girlfriend and kid out of his apartment, and tells his family to **** off. He goes to jump off a cliff into the sea (his one wish was to be apart of something bigger than he was) but he's luckily stopped by the arrival of the high school girl, who convinces him to come with her on a trip.

The story would be about the man trying to find a reason to live after having prepared himself to die, and the efforts of the High School Girl to help piece his life back together even while she deals with the demons in her past.

Depends on how much you intend to explore. Can you do it by just sticking to everything the protagonist does and sees, or are you gonna need to go off somewhere else at some point to keep the story flowing?

Pretty sure I can do it in First Person for the vast majority of it, though I suppose I can switch character POV?

That sounds Fantastic! you can try to do the story from more than one point of view to make it even more interesting
