just look at the context of the picture......if that doesn't scream rejection scene, Naruto walking in "front" of Hinata, with a stern look and hands in his pockets.
It was created by SP and like all these created by them it a lure of diversion, Nh fans were screaming canon when the RTN poster came that had AU Hinata macking on Naruto but as we can see what happen with that movie.
This is a promotion to draw in the NH fans

When has SP ever revealed something about a conclusion for a movie, in some promotional art?
Never, it usually ends up being the exact opposite. Because SP knows they can't reveal a final conclusion like the ending couple, so they'll never specifically promote it but they are allowed to promote the movie with art that ambiguous like this one.
NH fans scream canon all the time, can't people just wait till the movie actually releases.

Hinata on the other hand, went from always watching Naruto, to admiring him, to being so shy around him, to changing her persona and being more confident in herself, to protecting and confessing her love for him. Naruto in turn went more ballistic than he ever has or ever will again when he saw hinata stabbed. Naruto has had 0 time to talk to her about it cuz of this war. Neji dying being another link between them and holding hands in front of the whole army standing in front of impossible odds....
I see nothing like this between naru/saku.
There was no development on the Naruto Sakura side aside from Sakura being less annoyed with Naruto all the time and depending on him. I saw 0 scans of Sakura having any feelings or hints of feelings towards him. Even Naruto saw that Sakura will always love Sasuke and told her to stop lying. And Sakura just confessed once more that she loves Sasuke. Right in front of Naruto. I doubt Naruto will settle for being the rebound.

They've revealed Sasuke is alive, doesn't that spoil the conclusion? I favor NaruHina obv, but attempting to look from the writer's point of view it would be easier to ship Naruto with Hinata. If he ships Naruto with Sakura, he has to think about a way to make it not degrade Hinata's character, because I don't see her getting over Naruto anytime soon. You have to think, the writer likes his characters (most of them anyways), I personally don't think Kishi has rejection in him, unless it's for a good reason.

Sakura has always loved Sasuke on the surface but Yamato and Sai have clearly stated that Sakura feelings run deeper for Naruto than she even realizes, Kishi even writes in the 3rd databook.
Naruto is the "Main" character, his feelings are what matter. Everyone feelings will change to match his, Sakura will fall in love, Hinata will fall out of love.
From writers point of view, shipping Naruto with Hinata would be alot more harder, becasuse you would have to go through the cycle of Naruto a character who never gives up on "ANYTHING", suddenly giving up on Sakura and decided to go with a second option.
Having Hinata fall out of love would be easier, considering she's been in Infinite Tsymonki with Naruto. Since we know from Kishi that IT is a place where selfish desires are met, but the more stronger people realize there fault of there selfish desire.
Hinata will learn that she loves who Naruto is, but that aren't compatibly, Shikamaru will realize he doesn't wan to live his whole life being lazy, and will go thru the hassle of trying to get married.
If Naruhina is going to happen, I'll be fine with it as long as we have a lot of flashback of them actually interacting.
But as of now there are no characters that care for each other more deeper then Naruto and Sakura, there actions in the manga show that.
Sakura and Naruto have shown they'd would risk there happiness and there lives for each other. And there personalities are a perfect match.
