:hi: Just have some questions in regards to the connection between Minion & Jimbei's adventure as shown in the current cover story.

1) Is the sea-cat ..called minion? [See source 1]
2) Roshiante was seen viewing a map with a location/thing called minion, which is also in the chapter name. Coincidence? Is jimbei's adeventure going to correlate with current events? [See source 2]

Also, why is Garp a lieutenant general in this flashback whilst Sengoku a admiral. Any theories?

I'm just a bit confused and curious. Please help haha :)

I'm pretty sure that that was just a screw up from the translator. "Island of Fate, Minion" is the title of this chapter; "Jinbei's Adventure" however only refers to the cover story. Normally only the title of the chapter is written above the cover and whatever is happening inside the cover, is written on the cover itself. The translator though added this time "Jinbei's Adventure" above the cover, giving it the impression it somehow is connected with the title of this chapter.

Don't forget that this is a flashback of Law over things that happened a decade ago in North Blue, while Jinbei's story is happening right now and I don't think he's in North Blue.

Hmm thought as much, had to be mistranslated. :/

Why do you think Garp has a lower rank than Sengoku in the flashback?

Because Garp has never been the most responsible marine and we also know that he doesn't dig promotions. That was clearly shown when he always refused being promoted to admiral. It wouldn't be surprising if he had the same quirk when he was younger.

In another series there are two characters that are in fact quite similar comparatively seen to Sengoku and Garp and they were described as one being 'a loyal dog' and the other 'a stray cat', which is also quite fitting to describe Garp and Sengoku's relationship. Garp has his own sense of justice and is more impulsive, Sengoku on the other hand is the one who has always done things according to the book more or less.

But didn't garp also state, being vice-admiral gives him the freedom to do what he wants and his happy with it. So wouldn't this mean he would've taken promotions up until they offered an Admiral or Fleet admiral rank?

I wonder if Garp finally caved into accepting the VA position.
I think Garp never actually cared about ranking as much as the other Marines did. He knew he was strong enough to handle the highest tier pirates, and the WG acknowledged that and gave him freedom in any position.
I read a theory once that the WG didn't really want to make Garp an Admiral so they could use him as an underdog or a surprise strength attack.

Holy shit, that's the most retarded theory I've ever read.

Of all the marines to make an underdog out of with surprise strength they pick the guy with the nickname 'The Hero' ? The guy famous for chasing Gol D. Roger to the end of the earth ?

But maybe I'm wrong and does cabin boy Garp all the pirates with his strength.

Now I'm going to wipe my tears from laughing so hard at that theory, please thank the guy who made that.
