In a recent interview, you realize that akira toriyama introduces new characters in 2's. Do you think this is genius... or a crutch and lazy?

Think about it:

Vegeta and nappa

King Kai and Bubbles

Zarbon Dadoria

Jeice Burter

Androids 19 and 20

Androids 17 and 18

Androids 16 and Cell

Spopovich and Yamu

Pui pui and yakon

bibidi and dabura

Supreme kai and kabito

there are many exceptions, and some people he introduces in LARGER groups, but he falls back on this a lot because he says they have dialogue that organically gives back story

You learn about them through their conversations instead of narration. he says it feels more natural. i agree. Is this genius, or lazy?

Explosions is what it's about.
I think he slacked on explosions, lazy.
Though the start of the androids was genius, then lazy.

No deep meaning really behind it, the big bad needs henchmen. At least its what I think but this is a interesting coincidence so it could be. Wasn't the ginyu force introduced all at the same time though? Correct me if I'm wrong though.

You're right, there are exceptions. But in dragonball, we meet goku and bulma.... roshi and turtle... yamcha and puar... pilaf and his gang (i know thats 3)

Lol, who could forget the pose the ginyu force did. Even in dragonball this pattern was followed, cool observation you made here. Chi chi and the ox king too right, my memory is faint.

It's pretty smart. It's true he does develop new characters two at a time now that you mention it, although he might introduce them in more than 2's.

It allows him to make more use of the extreme contrast of characters, which should mean people are drawn closer to more characters. Sounds like he knew what he was doing =D
