I realize this thread may be completely pointless and that there has already been much discussion on this. But I was thinking about this earlier today and decided it type it and discuss it further.
The reason I'm posting this is due to this comment by Sasuke and what he really means.
Up until now Sasuke's actions and motives have been driven by a furious thirst for revenge or the truth. Hes been lied to and kept in the dark, acting like an fool based on knowledge he didn't have (or rather, he thought he had). Sasuke's ignorance has led him through a lot of self-discovery and maturity in the series and now he's found his answers and finally developed an opinion of his own; rather than an opinion forced upon him by others.
Naruto's actions and motives have been driven by a furious need for attention, acceptance, anger, and a false sense of reality. He makes rash and foolish choices based on naive notions of peace and what is right. (or rather, what he thinks is right). Naruto's ignorance has led him through a lot of self discovery and maturity. He's now come to an understanding of people and what lies within their hearts and has developed an opinion of his own; An opinion drawn from the hardships and teachings of others.
Unlike the first time this fight is not that of children where emotions and ignorance lead you to fight for reasons you don't fully understand; A fight fueled by anger like a married couple who can't communicate properly.
This fight is that of men, those who have taken in the world and all of it's darkness, and taken a stance. Those who understand each other what they are trying to do; Unwaivering and willing to die for what they feel is right.
This fight is essential to solidify and validate either Naruto's or Sasuke's stance. Naruto would be a constant source of problems for Sasuke's new world and so he wants to kill naruto to make sure his dream happens. On the other hand, Sasuke would be a constant source of problems for Naruto's new world, but Naruto believes in accepting those problems and working together to move forward.
I think ultimately Naruto is right, however Sasuke brings a particularly valid point that without a strong hand to keep things in check, it will be too easy for the new world to fall back into darkness. And with Naruto there to spur the emotions of the people in the "wrong direction", his method will surely fail.
