I guess this is their ultimate forms,

They have seem to taken on the actual appearance of Indra and Asura...

I only have one problem..

Asura is suppose to be the one plague by hunger for power..
Indra is suppose to be the supreme blissful one who rules over all gods..

So why is Naruto associated with Asura and Sasuke with indra?

Could it be that we have blindly misinterpreted them because of our own narrow minded sense of morality?
Because our reasoning is of a faulty, emotional personality?

I guess we only have 3 more chps and a movie to find out....

Kishi probably just switched their personalities to avoid TOTAL unoriginality.

the author switched their roles as to make it his own original idea. authors do this all the time. they may take ideas from other literature or cultures, but they put their own twist onto it. otherwise, why even read something new if it's just gonna be a rehash of something older?

If Indra = PS , Ashura = Kurama

Then why did Madara Use a Sussano and Kurama in his battle with Hashirama in Valley of the End given that Madara is the reincarnation of Indra, and Hashirama is the reincarnation of Ashura.

There are many version of the story between Indra and Ashura. From what I learned, there is a Japanese version in which Ashura is actually the good guy.

In fact, when I read some stuff about the circle of reincarnation, it is said that the gods can still fall from their position of gods during the cycle of reincarnation because they have lost their emotions and now do not care about the feelings of others people in the chain such as human being. Thus, since Indra has been being reincarnated many time, he may actually fall with Sasuke into a lesser realm.

On the other hand, Ashura having been reincarnated many time and seeking what is good may be ascending to a new state of god. Notice that Ashura is a demigod and therefore is likely to be enlighten. I think Kishi is being consistent to the buddhist facts.

well in fact things are less simple, like Shiva is the destroyer of all the crappy worlds but also the one whom dance to create new worlds and Kali the personification of fury but also the ultimate expression of a mother love for her child and of course justice etc

all the indian myths and characters are not as B&W/binary as others spiritual/religious stuff and many times some characters are simply a peculiar trait for another bigger one (like Krishna and Shiva for ex) or a symbolic explanation for a concept (the trimurti Vishnu/Brahma/Shiva for ex is symbolic, each god represent something, you need to see the big picture to understand it).

the devas and the asuras are not good VS bad neither angels VS demons (demons are not bad for everybody btw, just see how the greek talked about them), they are more like active forces fighting to find balance, this is what the ying/yang symbolize: +/- or light/dark or sun/moon etc

but imo Kishi is just playing with the reverse mode button for originality purpose :yay:
