I never bothered to speculate on the type of disease Itachi had, but also never appreciated the comments that made fun of it.

Your broken heart theory is both plausible and appropriate in light of the symptoms, Itachi's values, and the horrendous actions he had no choice but to perform.

Ah I see. Itachi obviously had a massive weight on his shoulders with all the stuff that he was forced into, and straight after that he basically became a double agent and had to basically bury his emotions a 100 feet under. Your "broken heart" theory makes sense. Good work.

The first word that came to my mind after reading this thread was "Excellent" and reading the later comments made me realize that many our friends have used the same word to describe the thread, this just goes on to show the quality of this thread!

This is by far the best explanation of Itachi's sickness. Instead of this whole AIDs repetitiveness I've kept seeing. I also like how you look at other points, evaluate to see if it's possible, and provide proof as to why they are unlikely the reasons.
