In under 50 years India will surpass china as the most populous country in the world. In that same time the living standard of Indians will improve dramatically, meaning more Indian children going to school and learning English in addition to other things. Many other countries have now adopted English as their second language. Adding all these people up you will find that English is the most widely spoken language on earth.
