Edward is small for his age, standing at only 149 cm (4'11") at the beginning of the series, despite his attempts to appear taller. He wears his golden-blond hair long - usually tied in a braid that hangs down to his shoulders, but sometimes forgoing the braid for a simpler ponytail. He parts his bangs in the middle so that they frame his face on either side as they fall and, in the center of the parting, he leaves a single strand of hair sticking up like an antenna. Ed's eye color is quite rare, it is gold in color.

Edward lost a part of his left leg and his right shoulder in a fierce battle. Due to that, Ed has a unique machinery named Automail which has been fitted to those missing places.
Ed wears as his trademark a bright red, long-sleeved, hooded cloak whose tail comes down to his upper calves. Emblazoned in black on the back is a Flamel. It is likely that Edward fashioned this cloak for himself, as he needs to repair it often. As part of his attempts to seem taller, Edward is rarely seen without his elevator shoes - black leather boots with thick, red soles. Additionally, he frequently wears white gloves when in public to conceal the fact that his right arm is artificial.

人格|Personality
On the surface, Edward displays an immature sort of personality. He is decidedly stubborn and strong-willed, frequently letting his pettiness and vindictiveness get the better of him. He is somewhat selfish and remarkably self-absorbed, generally acting more out of self-interest than any sort of philanthropy as well as taking several opportunities to stroke his own ego. He is largely hostile towards figures of authority and feels little incentive to follow orders with which he disagrees, earning him the distinction of being a loose cannon of sorts. Edward is also rather quick-tempered, resorting more often to steel-fisted violence than calm negotiation to settle disputes. He has a reputation for being foul-mouthed and is an incurably sarcastic cynic, only too happy to bluntly and harshly relieve others of their comfortable delusions regarding god, reality, or their own self-importance. Edward has also displayed a propensity towards impatience and an inability to sit still for long, which perhaps contributes to his love of travel.
However, for those few people who have made an impact on him, Ed shows his deeper nature to be one of marked selflessness, unflinching loyalty and great compassion. As someone who has had to suffer greatly at such a young age, Edward cannot ignore the true suffering of others and becomes sympathetic upon sensing pain and resolve in people's hearts. Though his solemn advice to such people is often tempered with brusque criticism, it is only because he genuinely wishes to place them on the most direct path forward. As one who has to struggle with a maimed body, he urges those with healthy bodies to use their strong legs to move forward, and as one burdened by the mistakes of his past, he stresses the necessity of people taking responsibility for their own errs. Though he will intervene on behalf of the oppressed if he concludes that a situation has called for it, Ed tends to help only those with the will - but not the means - to help themselves.
"Shorty?! Could a shorty do this?! What else you want to call me: a half-pint bean-sprout midget?! I'm still growing you backwater desert idiots!"
Of course, the most noticeable of Edward's dispositional characteristics is his Napoleonic denial of his shortness. Even in moments of relative composure, any and all references to his stature cause him to violently lose control of his emotions and lash out both verbally and physically. Distinctive to these outbursts is Ed's tendency to take even the most casual mention of his height as a gross insult and interpret it exaggeratedly, mistaking words as simple as "small" for phrases as contrived as "so-tiny-that-he-need-not-fear-being-crushed-by-a-boot-because-he-fits-so-easily-between-the-grooves-of-the-sole" and the like. Those unfortunate to utter the word "small" in his presence are fated to suffer one of his vindictive tantrums.
Though Edward proudly professes that he does not believe in gods, his spiritual sensibilities tend more toward the agnostic than the atheistic; in private, though he does not pray, he frequently acknowledges the existence of a god in his speech, if only to justify why it is that his life has been so difficult.
Ed's aesthetic sensibilities are also quite twisted in that he is a great fan of gothic or macabre fixtures and will usually transmute decorations filled with monstrous or demonic imagery and unnecessarily gaudy details, much to the dismay of anyone who receives a gift or service from him. He has also made it known that his trademark red coat is part of this general lack of taste, as it is "a badass color [that] gets the blood going".

歴史|History
Edward was the born in the village known for it's killing nature, the hidden village was called Kirigakure. He was born to Trisha Elric and Van Hohenheim. An year after, Alphonse was born making him the younger brother of Edward. They lived happily together in their toddler years until the time their father left the house and went on a travel. The two brothers waited for his return but to their avail, he was nowhere to be seen. This was the first disappointment in their life, soon, they learned to live with it and tried to learn some basic ninja skills together by taking out books from their father's room. Their mother was surprised at the fast pace they were learning.
The three Elrics were very happy until the day Trisha was struck with a very life threatening disease that she had to be in bed all the time. The two brothers tried to find medicine but to their horror, their mother died leaving behind two orphans. Winry Rockbell who was the childhood friends of the two brothers took them into her care along with her grandmother Pinako. There, they tried to learn even more advanced skills daily and to their surprise, they progressed even more making them quite happy and overcome their mother's death. With the basic necessities of a ninja, the two brothers were finally able to pass the academy and were promoted to Genin. Being skillful, they both were given a very dangerous mission which can life threatening.
"WHO ARE YOU CALLING A RUNT SO TINY HE COULD ONLY BE SEEN WITH A MAGNIFYING GLASS, YOU JERK!"
On their way, they had to fight against a very powerful ninja in which Edward lost a part of his left leg and his right shoulder while Alphonse had his entire body in flames. After coming back to their consciousness, they were horrified to see themselves in a pool of blood alone in the dark forest. Afraid of what happened to them, the village officials sent out rescue team whom later they found the two brothers in that state. The team cannot do anything rather than provide the necessary artificial limbs to Edward and a armor to Alphonse to hide the burned body.
Furious by this, Edward and Alphonse left Kirigakure as they heard about the great ninja who call almost heal anything in Konohagakure. Upon reaching Konoha, they both were considered and were taken in the care of Konoha were they received the necessary treatment by adding a new weapon called Automail which Edward had found while travelling towards Konohagakure. Alphonso was able to regain a part of his body but as of Edward, he has to live with the artificial limbs throughout his life. Edward had to somehow overcome with this disability so he tried so hard that he was able to reach the level of a average ninja due to his sheer will power and determination.
There in Konoha, the two brothers received high level training which could help them on missions and as well as to protect themselves. Edward was handed over a mission in which he had to deliver a message to the leader of the Akatsuki and it proved to be a difficult task. After many obstacles, he reaches the woman and gave the message to her, it seemed simple but was actually tough. Due to the village, Edward saw the light of hope in his eyes as he started doing activities like a human without any sort of disability.
When in Konohagakure, Edward started playing around with Lightning and Water in search of new tactics but it resulted in an thunderstorm which made Edward to go unconscious. After he woke up, he felt the power of Storm circulating around him and went towards Noni in order to discover his new potentiality.

Lightning Mastery
Edward being totally interested in the element of Lightning due to it's high speed and the power of destructiveness, has trained daily so hard that he reached a level in which he can perform all lightning techniques in one hand seal. This capability also made him immune to Chidori Nagashi.
Water Affinity
Water being the second favorite element of Edward, has trained in it all day with new tactics and things which made him reach a certain level that allowed him to perform all hands seal required for water techniques faster than an average shinobi.

Storm Release
When in Konohagakure, Edward started playing around with Lightning and Water in search of new tactics but it resulted in an thunderstorm which made Edward to go unconscious. After he woke up, he felt the power of Storm circulating around him and went towards Noni in order to discover his new potentiality.
Automail
When Edward lost his right arm and left leg in Kirigakure, he was just given an artificial limb which disabled him from entering into any sort of battles. Fed up by it, Edward went towards Konohagakure thinking that he might get some help there. On his way, he came across the perfect thing which he requires to make him move like a normal human being and attack like one while giving him extra abilities. It was nothing else other than the Automail. He took the automail with him to Konohagakure and kindly, Galen Marek did a surgery on Edward attaching the automail to him.

Description: Automail is a form of prosthetic used by highly skilled ninjas if they have any missing limb. It is made of up of several alloys and metals so that it is almost indestructible. The founder of this thing was unknown but it was passed on to many people, and eventually fell into the hands of Edward Elric. He took up this weapon to his advantage as he has a missing right hand and a left leg. The user would require to undergo a surgery in order to connect the automail directly to the chakra system and that automail would move like a normal limb with the help of chakra motors present within it allowing free movement. Once the automail has been fitted, it can be used like a normal limb after a few days of rest. The automail can withstand any free form attack and can also withstand any free form sword attacks due to the nature of the automail (the mix of metals and alloys). Because its connected to the chakra system of the user and substitutes his limbs, the automail will behave, in regards to techniques, in the same manner as a normal limb would (it can be used for handseals, to conduct chakra, to release chakra from it, etc etc etc). The automail has two parts.
Arm - If a person loses a hand, he is fitted with a automail suitable to him. The hand contains various weapons and can be used freely as the user wishes. Inside the fingers of the automail arm, there are 10 senbons in each finger allowing the user to fire them individually or all at the same time. A socket has been fitted right above the wrist part of the automail which has a hidden blade in it capable of retracting and attacking the opponent. Near the elbow area of the automail, are fitted 3 sockets containing smoke bombs in it which can open up and release the smoke bombs anywhere as the user wishes.
Leg - The leg automail does not have much functions as the automail arm but provides very useful features. Under the feet of it, it has a piston and a spring inside the automail. When required, the user can activate these both at the same time to help him recieve a sudden boost of of speed in order to evade techniques etc. The direction of the movement depends upon how the leg is placed on the ground. The piston gathers air from the beneath and compresses it within the automail which can be released along with the spring to boost himself into the air. Just like the automail arm, the leg also has a hidden blade underneath the toes which can retract to make a spike like thing appear on the tip of the shoes which can be used to attack the opponent. Since the piston and the spring are located at the middle of the feet, the hidden blade is located at the frontal end of the feet.
