First of all,soul reapers can only be harmed by attacks from people with spiritual pressure.hollows,fullbringers,arancar,visoreds etc.if someone has too low of spiritual pressure,they're techniques simply don't work

Examples of this are when ichigo is unable to harm kenpachi,or when soi fons two hit kill failed on aizen

Secondly,genjutsu only works on people with chakra.chakra comes from the god tree,which is exclusive to nv.

The same applies to chakra dirupting techniques of course
