... She poofs away. And Barney crawls out of his hiding hole. Well, if you want, we can summon the others now. Barney performs the sacrifice and summons Grus and Sarus. As you can see, they are quite the opposite. He raises his hand to pet the cranes and their faces twist into an expression full of happiness and love. Go ahead, ask them whatever you want.

Sarus quickly responds though the mind link, informing everyone about his affinity. Hey, my name is Sarus and my affinity is wind. I can create a very thick atmosphere around a specific point, just inches thick but enough to disperse any lighting jutsu that tries to pass through it. I can also form the thickening of the air in various shapes, be it a sphere around us or a shield-like formation in front of us or to our sides, etc.. The thickening effects the short area around the thickening point. See, the process works by simply compressing the desired field of air and infusing it with my own chakra, in a way that cancels out lightning. You have to notice that this ability counts towards your jutsu per turn limit so you have to be careful. Oh, I forgot to mention that the technique is considered S ranked.
Now it's my turn? Grus starts speaking through the mind link. Well, the name is Grus and my affinity is being awesome. Barney starts laughing and bums his fist with Grus' wing. I don't bother with ninjutsu because in my opinion it is a waste of time. By the time you perform your silly handseals and hope that your fingers don't get all tied up I can fly 3 circles around the battlefield. I am the fastest crane and I specialize in aerial tactics and aerial combat. That's right, Grus ends with a silly face, looking alike a grin.

How long can this "thickened" layer of air last? When it's raised, is it a passive effect or is it a streaming of your chakra that makes it? Can i use jutsus while you compress the air with your chakra? How far away can you "thicken" the air around a desired area? How long can you stay out in the field? S-rank.. That's very nice :3

I think you'd work wonders as a diversion and help me breaking out of genjutsu. That is if you can still use chakra transfer even if you chose not to utilize elemental ninjutsu that is.

Once I create it, it's there and it remains there until destroyed, so yes, it's kind of "passive". This means short in every direction or mid in diameter, if it makes it easier to understand. As every other summon, I am limited to 4 turns.
Well, I talked about it with Scorps, and unfortunately, the flapping of my wings isn't strong enough for techniques. Yes, I can flap if you want just to make your technique look cooler, but it won't really do much. Chakra transfer? Nah, I can screech every genjutsu right out of your ass, don't worry.

Sound genjutsu is just genjutsu using soundwaves as a medium for induction and mostly focusing on impairing hearing. I don't see how it's any special in that regard. But yes, I can dispel it, since I can actually dispel even MS genjutsu.

As it exhales, it produces a loud, high screech that travels at the speed of sound. The screech leaves any enemy in the field momentarily deaf while disturbing their inner ear and equilibrium, making them stumble and lose balance, unable to move correctly or coordinated. The screech however, has additional effects, specially on enemy summons. Upon hearing the painful sound, the enemy summons immediately disperse back into their "homelands". This technique can also be used to release the summoner from genjutsu or mind manipulation techniques when used by a Crane Summon, by sheer shock the screech produces in the user's hearing.

-Deafens the enemies for 3 turns
-Severely decreases the enemies balance and equilibrium for 2 turns

Seriously though, it shouldn't because if you follow the logic, any RL crane would kill itself by it's own screech? Don't think that's happening. The note may be misleading but I'm pretty sure it's meant for the opponent's summons. Still, let's wait for Scorps to confirm since he made that technique.
