Who is to say he couldn't beat Naruto without them?

It is like this,

If you want to kill someone, and they are 20 meters across of you and there is a gun next to you, would you be like "No, I won't use it because I can kill them without it"

Sasuke used it because it was there and it would have been a waste if he hadn't done that.He knows he can kill him but he also understands that there is a chance he may loose, so he is just not risking it when his life is on the line.

OT, please be quiet. We all know that if you have a gun and it's the more convenient way to kill an opponent, you use it. But Sasuke fans have been talking about Naruto relying on Kurama since day 1. Now it's backfired on them.
