Sasuke has been power tripping the whole way through the story, only now it's becoming more obvious since higher lvls of power are being concentrated in him.

contrary to popular belief, the Uchiha don't hold the exclusive on that. Nagato and various other characters who didn't have "Uchiha" as a surname were seen power tripping when they held themselves as being unbeatable after acquiring a little power. Hagoromo already identified it as being a human vice in general, so there shouldn't be anything hard to understand about that. Naruto even credited Itachi for setting him straight because he was leading himself to believe he had all the answers because of his power.
