Why not? The digital world just makes some people happier. It's not like this is going to have a negative impact on his life. Besides spending money on games, but hey, everyone does that anyway.

There are obvious ways there will make negative impacts in his life , socially , and psychologically .

He can't distinguish between fiction and reality. It's one thing to do what makes you happy, but this is a whole nother thing. I give it four weeks before he's setting up fight clubs.
