Hidan and Kakuzu were going for the two tails. The Jinchuriki could transform into the Biju.

Looking at this scene:

I wonder how?? The TBB of those Biju were equal and towered and vaporized a mountain easily.

...nice username.

Well, I'm sure that both of them have the sufficient requirements needed to "dodge" or avoid the TBB. Maybe not Hidan, but he is "immortal", so he could have probably taken the hit.

Kakuzu especially, he is very underrated. His Domu might have been able to tank one.

I think they just took down the Bijuu before it got a chance to use the TBB, to be honest.

You're underestimating them both severely, mostly Kakuzu in this predicament. I'll go over a list of what Kakuzu could have added to the capture:

(a): Elemental Variants - Sure we don't see many Elements actually causing severe damage now that it's all about massive-field changing power, but I guarantee you that Kakuzu's Ration: Gian played a massive role in wounding the beast seeing as its piercing power is great.

(b): Jiongu (Threads) - People overlook the small feats that Kakuzu's threads have performed: Sewing together Human Body Parts, Traveling deep underground to conceal its presence, holding up a human body, being physically resistant due to flexibility, & being able to reproduce a near infinite amount. Those threads are greatly underestimated, they by themselves could more than-likely partially restrain a Tailed-Beast's limbs.

(c): Doton: Domu. One of the Top 5 Defenses in the NV which is highly underestimated as well. Any Physical Attacks, as well Elemental Natures not being Raiton could, and would be tanked.

There is so much more Kakuzu could have possibly contributed to capturing Tailed-Beast, but that's just the minority.

I've wondered this as well. Yugito Nii seemed to have a pretty good relationship with her bijuu, seeing that she could enter Tailed Beast state at will. We know Hidan cursed her, so either him or Kakuzu must have somehow gotten herblood.

All the Nibi did was use fireballs against them. A full power Bijuu with a Jin who has full control (Yugito doesn't) of their powers stomps these two.

building-busting fireballs =/= mountain vaporizing bijuudamas
Yuugito wasnʻt one of the four who were stated to have been able to be in complete control of their bijuu.

Hidan and kakuzu are very anti-bijuu as hidan has a move that completely ignores durability while kakuzu has the means to draw blood and has 2 ways of tricking the bijuu that heʻs dead.

Considering that Kisame beat the 5 tails Jinchuriki, it is not surprising nor should it be shocking.

I'm tired of people thinking that Jinchuriki are actually something "special" when clearly they get negged by almost every member in the Akatsuki.

Shukaku would own Pain + Itachi, let alone two tails or more than that.

Yugito does have pretty good control with her bijuu though. Her fellow villager (Killer Bee) was a perfect jinchuuriki. She almost certainly went to the Hidden Cloud's Tailed Beast Temple on Turtle Island and trained there to control her bijuu. She was able to enter BM with no difficulty. She should be able to use Bijuudama. It's like Shukaku, if he had used TBB against Gamabunta then the toad would have been negged.
