[Discussion] Are law and luffy related?

Just read the new op manga and law has the d. Middle name. My guess is that roger was his dad and that would make him related to luffy. And I can almost garuntee you that law is gonna be the next namaki. One luffy won't leave him alone, two he's getting a lot of back story, three he was trying to die killing doffy so he obviously didn't have a future, four were about to accomplish his one goal. At this rate law is a garunteed addition

Firstly if Roger was Law's dad (not sure why u think so) he would not be related to Luffy since Roger has no connection to Luffy that we know of.
Secondly, having the initial D in one's name does not mean that everyone who carries it is related to each other. Jaguar D Saul was a giant
so the D is not bound to humans only.
+ We already saw Law's parents in the flashback.

Yes they are most likely related somehow by their middle name, but not through blood.

I think the answer to the D's lies in the Void Century, that someone or something triggered an event with the ancient weapons 'which caused a storm' That man or maybe thing was called D. And that the WG started tagging dangerous people with a D. People who hold a certain potential to create such a storm again.

Maybe D stands for destruction or dangerous or something along the lines.

So far all the people with a D. in their name have a lot of influence or capabilities to throw a big wrench in the WG plans.

Roger had the D alright , but it's not like he was the origin of it. Like WB said the D had excisted since ancient times and has since been passed down.

Roger is no relation to Luffy, Ace wasn't a blood relative. At least not as it's been explained so far. Law having D. doesn't make them related in a familial way just like it doesn't make Jaguar Saul related to Luffy.
