I think I know why Naruto has the bandage, and Sasuke the headband!

Back in part 1, in their first ACTUAL fight on the rooftop this happened.

Sasuke was testing Naruto about scratching his headband.
He doesn't do it that time, but when he has an open chance to claw his throat during their chidori/rasengan clash at VOTE Naruto deliberately scratches his headband to make a point and to set up the huge role of scratched headbands in part 2, abandoning your villages.

And since this time, Sasuke has no headband... well if that happens again, he's gonna want to cover that up. So when their Rasengan/Chidori collide he may claw his actual forehead, but not get very deep once Sasukes sharingan sees it and he jukes his head back. The same as the VoTE clash when they exchanged those last blows.

Naruto... Remember when Sasuke punched him in the stomach? I think that Sasuke will try piercing his stomach with chidori since this time he can use double chidori in both hands, Naruto will intercept it with his hand, and hold it in place suffering the pain so hat he doesn't get his heart pierced again like in part 1.

so basically it would be a more deadly version of the part 1 clash. 1 hand collides with Rasengan/Chidori. The other hand claws his head with no headband, and he will attempt to pierce him in the stomach with a second chidori.

He'll probably choose not to use his paths for old times sake, you know Kishi.

And yeah Naruto would heal from anything else but it's different when it comes to Sasuke... he could infuse it with senjutsu. They're equals.

That's what I was thinking about Sasukes forehead and I never thought that Narutos hand was pierced by chidori I just thought maybe the sealing mark left damage

Holy shit i never thought about the scratch on sasuke a headband like that. I just assumed it signified his beginning as a rogue ninja. But it actually made me get butterflies in my stomach thinking about that scratch on the headband now after re reading that scene between them. I'm a big nerd over good story progression and subtle stuff that ties together and that's awesome to figure this out. Glad i read this

I figured the damage Naruto's arm might be the result of using Rasenshuriken in close-range (maybe to block a Kirin). Naruto was warned about it that technique, ya know?

However, you'd think his new healing powers could just grow a new arm, so it's hard to believe he could suffer perminent damage.

You are forgetting one thing that Sasuke relished the most with his older brother, Itachi. He always poked his fingers on Sasuke’s forehead every time when he turned down Sasuke’s requests. We all know how much Itachi was highly adored by Sasuke when he was a little kid. Perhaps, Sasuke was subconsciously starting to respect Naruto on certain levels and boldly announced that Naruto wont able to touch his forehead.
