He beat Nagato. And plus Naruto has had setbacks all his life, poor chakra control, didn't have a decent person to personally teach him until the end of part 1, and still kept on par with sasuke. A perfect is example was the tree climbing exercise. Naruto has poor chakra control and still kept up with Sasuke. What does Sasuke have in his arsenal that Naruto can't beat?

That Rinnegan wasn't nagato's and you were talking about potential right? no need to get on defense

That is a certain kind of potential but knows all jutsu doesn't mean you can use them effectively. Kakashi and Oro is prime examples of shinobi knowing an amazing amount of jutus, yet not really helping them much.

Edit: To be fair, kish is a lazy writer... but it didn't give them any power ups for knowing them.
