Re: Reborn teaches Me Genjutsu!

Genjutsu don't produce a real, palpable,
feasible effect; it produces
an illusionary effect. With a
specific KG however, the
illusions can become so
strong that the body will be
fooled into mimicking in real
life the fake effects its
perceiving through the
illusion. There exists two main types
of Genjutsu : the passive,
non chakra fueled ones
(basically illusions to our
senses like visual
paradoxes and such which
have little use in the RP and
can be easily overcome
through experience and
logic) and the active,
chakra fueled ones.
There exists two main types
of Genjutsu : the passive,
non chakra fueled ones
(basically illusions to our
senses like visual
paradoxes and such which
have little use in the RP and
can be easily overcome
through experience and
logic) and the active,
chakra fueled ones. Genjutsu works by using
chakra to disturb the chakra
flow of the opponent,
specially (but not limited
to) in the brain, altering his
senses . By doing this you
can make him perceive any
thing his senses are
capable of: pain, heat, cold,
tickles, iching, visions,
sounds, etc etc Genjutsu Detection:
In essence there are two
ways to detect genjutsu :
either figure out its an
illusion or notice the
fluctuation on your chakra
flow. To figure out its an
illusion, the target needs to
analyze the information he
is receiving from the
illusion and detect what is
wrong with it or performing
an educated guess. While
the most used method, its
also the most flawed and,
regardless of any fact, is
nothing more than a gamble
as ones reasoning can
always be wrong. Its also
sometimes slow, as some
illusions are very detailed
and perfected to the point
that noticing its an illusion
may be virtually impossible.
Detecting the fluctuation in
your chakra flow depends on
the situation but mainly
depends on your abilities as
only Doujutsu or Sensory
Ninjas can have ways to
detect fluctuations in ones
chakra flow. Doujutsu users
have, however, a limitation
that hinders them to a
bigger degree: if the illusion
is high ranked (A-Rank for
Byakugan and Rinnegan,
while on the Sharingan,
dependent on its stage) and
takes complete control over
their eyesight , they can't
see their own chakra flow as
what they will see is what is
the illusion. Chakra sensors
on the other hand need to
figure out its a genjutsu or
that something is wrong to
then will themselves to
focus on their chakra flow
and notice its fluctuation
unless they have the Chakra
Sensing technique already
active. Basically, if they
don't figure out nothing is
wrong, they won't sense
themselves. This means
that Chakra Sensoring
ninjas work on a hybrid
basis. In one hand they need
to figure out some minor
sign that its an illusion but
on the other hand once its
found they can use their
sensing abilities to confirm
it without a doubt.
One misconception
generally associated with
Genjutsu is that ones chakra
travells to ones target. This
is false or, if true, was
never proven or showed in
the manga/anime. If this
was the case, we would
never see Doujutsu or
Chakra Sensory users
getting caught in Genjutsu
as they "would see it
coming".
Another point that leads to
many discussions is the
fact that Clones may or may
not be affected by Illusions.
The truth is that they are in
fact affected by illusions
but since they don't have an
organic, real body, they
don't suffer pain or
reflexive actions based on
that illusion. They will
experience it and see it and
be affected by it in terms of
their senses, but they don't
take mental or otherwise
physical damage nor do they
experience suffering or
torture, faint or otherwise
fall asleep or become
paralyzed as a result of the
Illusion.
Our RP
Release Rules:
Now, this can be done in 3
basic ways:
1- Altering the balance
between physical and
spiritual energies in your
chakra by disturbing your
physical energy. This is
done by producing pain. Pain
comes from the body and
thus it makes your physical
energy fluctuate by
"shocking" your body .
Because of this fluctuation,
your chakra flow
experiences a spike . This
spike is a disturbance that
will dispel other
disturbances present in your
chakra by unbalacing its
flow and reseting it to its
normal flow. The higher the
pain, the bigger the spike.
The more resistant or
accostumed to pain your bio
is, the less effect this has.
Kaguya bios for example
have a very high tolerance
to pain, making them
unsuited for this release
method. While genjutsu can
mimic pain or any other
sensation, it will always
pale against real
sensations. While Pain is
subjective , certain
guidelines can be followed.
D Rank Genjutsu: Chipping
a Finger (like one does as
he bites to draw blood for
a Summoning Jutsu)
C Rank Genjutsu: Low level
Physical Attacks, Bitting a
chunk of your Cheek
B Rank Genjutsu: Low
ranked Taijutsu/Freestyle
A Rank Genjutsu: High
ranked Taijutsu, Stabbing
Yourself in minor muscle,
Cutting yourself, Breaking
Smaller bones, Low level
Burning/Voltage, Painful
Cold
S Rank Genjutsu: EIG/Sage
level Taijutsu, Breaking
Bones, Deep Stabs or cuts,
Medium Voltage/Burning,
Extreme Painful Cold,
Bitting your tongue off
2- Altering the balance
between physical and
spiritual energies in your
chakra by disturbing your
spiritual energy. This is
done by your sheer will
power. Its done by forcefully
creating a surge of chakra in
your body by spiking your
spiritual energy through will
power alone, forcing
yourself to mold and
channel your chakra in a
way that will either halt the
chakra flow or disturb it . It
can be done in 2 ways :
through the cannon release
technique known as Kai or
through techniques that
produce a high surge of
chakra on your chakra flow.
-In the case of Kai, it
breaks genjutsu in a direct
proportion to the chakra
spent to perform it. This
means one needs to spend
the same amount of chakra
spent to produce the
illusion. It counts as a jutsu
from the jutsu count,
requires 1 handseal and can
only be used once per turn.
The disruption does not
break inheritly passive
techniques, namely Walking
on Water or Tree Climbing.
Some self induced illusions
can act as Kai or be
designed to act as Kai. -When we consider high
chakra surges as a form of
release, you need to have a
technique that is at least 1
rank higher than the
genjutsu set upon you for
the case of elemental or
specialized techinques (like
Gentle Fist), or 2 ranks for
the case of raw chakra
techniques. An example of
this is Raiton: Chidori
Nagashi, an A-Rank full
body technique that requires
no hand seal and can dispel
up to B-Rank Genjutsu set
upon you. The principle is
that as these techniques,
since they require you to
release a large amount of
chakra from all or most of
your tenketsu at once in a
less focused manner, will,
when one uses enough
chakra, overcome the
fluctuation set on the
chakra flow, reseting it to
its normal flow. Because
this method needs one to
overpower the fluctuation
set on the chakra flow, you
need to spend more chakra
than what was used to
induce the illusion.
However, not all chakra
burst-type techniques fall
under this rule because of
their own specific
characteristics. An example
is the opening of one of the
Eight Inner Gates. Upon
opening, the sudden release
of chakra disturbs any
genjutsu affecting you.
3- Altering your chakra flow
through the introduction of
foreign chakra or energies .
This can be done by an ally
who is capable of using the
chakra transfer technique or
by entering, for example,
sage mode or being a
jinchuriki in control of your
bijuu or releasing a Curse
Mark . The reasoning is that
as foreign chakra enters
your system or another
energy (natural energy),
your chakra flow becomes
altered and unbalanced and
thus releases the genjutsu.
This enables the release of
any Genjutsu except
Mangekyo Sharingan grade
Genjutsu.
All of these methods
produce a reset-like effect
on your chakra flow, making
it return to normal and
dispelling the Genjutsu.
However, one most not
forget that for a release to
be valid, it ALWAYS needs
to be partnered with a
logical and reasonable
explanation of how, from
your bio's RP perspective,
you figured out it was a
Genjutsu/Illusion and thus
felt the need to release
from it. Releasing from it by
"luck" or "because i know
its a genjutsu" without
stating the why isn't valid.

Re: Reborn teaches Me Genjutsu!

Nah, like I said I'll punish you later. Now then mr. I'd hate to have Reborn as a sensei. The way I'll be training you is in accordance to a method system that isn't like the conventional train by technique from lowest rank to highest. I group techniques together based on their similarities and teach you that way as it's easier to teach you a group of the same techniques than it is to teach you one technique of one type and another of one type and explain to you in a tedious fashion. Nevertheless before we go through that I'll be giving you pre-training in order to broaden your foundation. I also teach you how to apply genjutsu and in the most basic sense so that you have a feel for them as well as how to create customs. In order for me to do this you need the pre-training to broaden your foundation in genjutsu knowledge

The pre-training is done in three steps as follows;

Deciphering/Breaking Genjutsu
Casting Genjutsu
Layering Genjutsu

the first two are the more basic knowledge area of knowledge but people often incorrectly assess some of this information and also don't understand the nuances that exist that can help you determine or break genjutsu so I attempt to give you a little extra in that area. The last concept is something that has never been completely explained until recently though it has always existed in our system. Even still, people tend to use it incorrectly or don't use it to it's full potential so I expand on that.

Any questions before we begin?

Re: Reborn teaches Me Genjutsu!

Yeah, If someone cast 3 Genjutsu of the different rank I need to release them one by one , but if he cast three Genjutsu of the same rank then?

Re: Reborn teaches Me Genjutsu!

If somebody casts three genjutsu on you of any rank you need only to release from the strongest level in order to break every other genjutsu. If you are placed in an A, B, C illusion you need only enough to break A and all three are gone. If you are in an triple A illusion same thing and you'll only need to do it once.

Alright, first order of business is recognizing and breaking genjutsu. Fighting against a genjutsu can happen many of ways but in virtually any scenario you need to first recognize you're under a genjutsu yourself. Once you realize you're under the spell you can take the actions to attack it. As far as realizing you're in a genjutsu there are a multitude of ways of doing so.

For non-special ability shinobi it comes about through realizing the nuances in techniques that obviously tell you what's happening isn't real. certian genjutsu are harder to detect than others and there is almost always somebody who tries to metagame their way out of it. Never-the-less learn to tastefully and honestly tell you're in a genjutsu. If the genjutsu doesn't have the most adverse effects on you or you feel like your "realization" of being in a genjutsu is a bit iffy, for your sensei, don't bullshit your way out of it. Be the guy who says "**** being in a genjutsu I'll fight anyway". I do it frequently against people who use some lower tier genjutsu on me, it makes you look better at genjutsu to.

Now there are a melody of special ways to confirm you're in a genjutsu. However, even with those methods of confirmation you're not automatically given a way to bully through genjutsu everything still needs to first happen in the speculation phase. You need a reason to think you're in a genjutsu before you can confirm it. Ordinary ninja can't always confirm or at least not in way the following methods can which is why they only have the speculation phase. The techniques and abilities I'm about to list give you a way to 100% confirm what is happening is a genjutsu.

Sensory: The ability to sense your own chakra flow. If you suspect you're in a genjutsu you can check your own chakra flow. Since Genjutsu disrupts the natural flow if you see an internal disruption and foreign chakra inside your system you confirm it's a genjutsu

Dojutsu (Byakugan/Rinnegan): Works in the same exact way as chakra sensors in the terms of seeing your own chakra flow

Dojutsu (Sharingan): Works in the same way as dojutsu however, in the case of visual genjutsu being cast (meaning anything with visual affects bar special genjutsu like Sound and Elemental genjutsu) if your sharingan is mature enough it can see through/pierce the illusion and break you out, not just help tell if you're in one. However against non-visual genjutsu the Sharingan works in the same way as the sensory technique and other dojutsu.

in short any method that allows you to see/detect your own chakra flow is a tool of confirmation that can help you. Understand?

Okay, I want you to address these points in your responses.

-How the technique is performed. (which is basic for all techniques)
-What senses the genjutsu affects and how it affects them?
-How the genjutsu creates an opening for the attack.
-In what situations would use it, if you would use it at all. Provide reasoning.

Read over these before I post the first two jutsu. We will be going two at a time to start then move at one at a time once we get to the higher ranks.

( Magen: Kokoni Arazu no Jutsu ) - Demonic Illusion: False Surroundings Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 10 (+5 if you use it double)
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user casts an illusion over an area that allows him to manipulate the way an area looks to fool an opponent. He can only change the way the terrain looks, and not any other feature.

This is a basic illusion that affects the way the opponent's sees the terrain. The main sense affected by this technique is sight. You cannot make the opponent feel certain aspects of the terrain such as making the ground rise up around them as that would exceed the capabilities of the technique. Each illusion has a limit to how much it can affect the opponent which is how it creates a certain opening. This technique use is used to manipulate the opponents sight of their surroundings to make it seem like everything around them had changed. Because this is a purely visual technique, an opponent with an eye technique able to see through it or a sensor, can brush it off like its nothing. When this technique is used, because the opponent sees the terrain differently, use it to your advantage to combine it with another attack or move. You can make an earth wall rise up skillfully to hide yourself from your opponents vision. If this is used against you, analyze the changes in terrain to detect whether they are possible or not.

( Genjutsu: Kahen Tonsou ) - Illusion Technique: Flower Petal Escape
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user makes five handseals, appearing to dissolve into a shower of cherry blossom petals. These petals surround the opponent, blocking his vision. This allows the user to mask his movement effectively.

This technique requires five hand seals and basically makes it seem as if the opponent escaped in a shower of cherry blossoms, and also blocks the opponents vision. This is similar to the first technique in that it manipulates only vision. You actually don't dissolve into cherry blossoms in the actual event of things but your opponents sees the even as if you dissolved. You can use this to momentarily escape your opponents sights so that you can launch a sneak attack at them. The power of this technique makes it so that it is easily able to be broken through various methods, just as the previous technique, but this isn't exactly meant to overpower your opponent. It is meant to confuse your opponent for a slight instant in which they cannot see your actions. In this time you could strategic set-ups that your opponent cannot respond to unless they god mod that you can use in the future.

-How the technique is performed. (which is basic for all techniques)

This technique is performed to make our opponent see different terrain from what actually it is.
-What senses the genjutsu affects and how it affects them?
Sight, it affects sight because it maked the user see a different terrain
-How the genjutsu creates an opening for the attack.

This will make the opponent get confused and I'll hide behind a wall as you said and use Hide like a mole technique to get close to my opponent and finish him off.
-In what situations would use it, if you would use it at all. Provide reasoning.
Well I will use it in an opening move because it will help me to observe my opponents' moves and all.

-How the technique is performed. (which is basic for all techniques)

The technique is performed tomake our opponent see us dissolving in cherry blossoms and it also blocks the vision of our enemy.
-What senses the genjutsu affects and how it affects them?
Sight, it effects sight because it make our opponent see us dissolving in a shower of cherry blossoms
-How the genjutsu creates an opening for the attack.

This technique distract our opponents' sight and attention that will give us an opening to sneak attack our opponent.
-In what situations would use it, if you would use it at all. Provide reasoning.
I will use it if my opponent is about to launch a projectile based technique because it will make my opponent loose his aim and I'll get away.

( Genjutsu: Kasumi ) - Illusion Technique: Servant
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: The user does one handseal and throws a paper bomb at the enemy. The enemy, trapped in a genjutsu will see a clone of the user advancing upon him. As the paper bomb reaches the enemy, it explodes

( Kasumi Jūsha no Jutsu ) - Mist Servant Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost:10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: This illusion creates numerous illusionary clones of the user that appear to emerge from the ground, trees, rocks, etc. If these clones are attacked, they appear to multiply. The user can co-ordinate his attacks with the clones to make it appear as if they are real.

The following two techniques are similar and different in certain aspect of their uses. I will explain them to you at the same time discussing these similarities and differences but I still want you to look at the techniques separately as you have done for previous techniques. But I would like it if you also added your thoughts on how the techniques relate to each other. Both techniques are same in that they both create illusions that look like clones. The first technique is different in that it requires one hand seals and turn a moving projectile into a clone which is why it needs the hand seal for more precise manipulation of your chakra in the opponent's brain while the second technique creates clones to come out of random places thus not requiring as much attention to detail. The first technique turns the paper bomb kunai into a clone of yourself that approaches toward the opponent, once it gets close the paper bomb explodes and your opponent doesn't expect the clone to be an illusion catching them off guard. The second causes clones to come out of the surroundings. This is made to seem like you gained an advantage in numbers. You opponent will because that they will have to deal with all of your clones at the same time. You simply affect their vision to produce projections of yourself around the opponent to make it seem like clones. while in the first technique you affect their vision to manipulate how they perceive the kunai and changing that into a clone. You can use the first technique to catch your opponent off guard by also making a shadow clone thus they wouldn't be able to tell the difference if they all attack him at the same time. But I want to make sure that you know that it is only short range, so it's uses are very limited. So the easiest way to counter to make your opponent pay for coming so close. Use a technique that can over a mere paper bomb and attack your opponent at the same time. The illusion won't even matter if you don't treat it as an illusion but take the opponent advancing toward you as a reason to attack. The second illusion extends up to mid range, but the clones are all illusions. So the easiest way is to use a large scale technique that can hit all the clones at the same time, so that the illusions can defend themselves. If the technique is used in close range, they use projectiles to determine that one of the clones is an illusion of the clones interactions with its environment to analyze you're in an illusion then break out of it through pain.

-How the technique is performed. (which is basic for all techniques)

This technique is performed to make our opponents see that a paperbomb turns in to a Clone of myself.
-What senses the genjutsu affects and how it affects them?
Sight, because we make our opponents see the Paperbomb as a clone of ourselves
-How the genjutsu creates an opening for the attack.

This will create an opening like this, I cast the illusion then my opponent see my clone getting close to him, he might think thag clone can do nothing but as it will get close it will explode and harm my opponent.
-In what situations would use it, if you would use it at all. Provide reasoning.
I would like to use it as an opening move but the technique requires short range , so I will use it when I will move forward throwing a projectile at the same time.
I got a question we throw the paperbomb first or we cast the genjutsu then ?

-How the technique is performed. (which is basic for all techniques)

This is technique is performed to make our opponents see that numerous of our clones merging around them from anywhere like tree, branch, ground ,etc.
-What senses the genjutsu affects and how it affects them?
Sight, because again if make our opponent see that our clones are merging from grounds and all.
-How the genjutsu creates an opening for the attack.

This creates an opening like this, I cast the genjutsu and make him see the clones merging that will make him busy fighting them , then I create two shadow clones that will do real damage , my opponent cant distinguish between these clones that how it will create an opening for me to attack.
-In what situations would use it, if you would use it at all. Provide reasoning.
Its mid range and I would like use it when use a projectile based technique on my opponent as they will dodge and then see my clones everywhere.

Similarities and Differences
They both target the same sense that is Sight/Vision. Both the techniques uses clones. In the first technique clone harms the opponent but in the second technique clone doesn't. First technique requires one hand seal, Second one doesn't.

( Magen: Narakumi ) - Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user performs two handseals causing it to appear as if a swirl of leaves surrounds the opponent. The swirl eventually falls away, and after a few seconds, the opponent sees the image of whatever they fear the most, shocking them and potentially causing them to faint.

This is a visual based genjutsu but is it a little more complicated than the previous ones. Remember how I said that the region that you input your chakra into the opponent's brain is the region that controls emotions. That fact plays an incredibly important role in genjutsu such as this. This technique requires two hand seals because of this fact in that it requires even more precise manipulation of you chakra in the opponent's brain. The first part of the technique involves using your chakra to manipulate the opponent's vision. You will simply make them see a swirl of leaves that temporarily blocks their vision. You then use your chakra to find and amplify their fear. This is the emotion that you want to bring out with this technique. You will not cause the opponent to fear anything, but instead you will simply use what they already fear against them. By using your chakra to manipulate the opponent's mind and emotions, you can cause the fear to build up to great proportions. You then project the fear using your manipulation of their vision to make them see what they fear after the leaves fade away. By combining the amplification of the fear to some extent with the impact of the opponent being presented with the fear visual you create a short opening in which you shock them. Now to the truth of this technique. It is very weak and thus skilled ninja can easily break out of it. To be honest, there is no real use from this technique perhaps than to interrupt your opponent's move where they simply cut themselves to break out. The jutsu can be easily be perceived as genjutsu because it is unrealistic for someone's fears to just arise out of thin air. If it is used on you, just reason yourself on why its not possible, and cut yourself to break out. Ultimately not a good technique to use. I find only False Surroundings be useful of all the D-ranks.
