I'm curious to see your opinions on such fans. How would you describe them without it becoming borderline insults? I've found this to be overly accurate:

An extreme fan or follower of a particular medium or concept, whether it be sports, television, film directors, video games (the most common usage), etc. Known for a complete lack of objectivity in relation to their preferred focus. Usually argue with circular logic that they refuse to acknowledge. Arguments or debates with such are usually futile. Every flaw is spun into semi-virtues and everything else, blown to comedic, complimentary proportions.

Care to add something or elaborate some deeper meaning or purpose?

Looks like a good definition to me. It's pretty much objecting any fact or opinion aimed against or perceived as negative towards the thing they enjoy. Ignoring facts of something you're a fan of is usually a sign of what is known as a fanboy.

Agreed. I just can't understand the depth of such enjoyment towards a character that you're willing to ignore something of factual importance. But oh well.

There was a Madara fan who contemplated suicide after BZ stabbed him.

At this point, it really wouldn't surprise me, if it actually happened. But I guess, it would be an epic opportunity to expand the depths of this topic.

I didn't catch you in anything. I just made you think about what you said.

It still doesn't answer anything.

Looks good, now lets see if we can make it more concise.

Fanatical fan(not to be confused with a Guru or Enthusiastic Fan): A fan who devotes themselves to a person, object, or ideology, both fictional or non fictional so completely that it consumes the same amount of time as an average hobby to full-time job. The Fanatical fan obsesses to the point of worship, freely confessing importance and grandeur to anyone that will listen, while degrading the importance of any other aspect, ideology or person involved in the same medium of the target obsession. Unlike the Guru or the Enthusiastic Fan, irrationality and ignorance is a common denominator among them.

Thanks for the reply. The definition definitely adds another level to the elaboration.
